holzemjo
DAY-YUM, that is some nice work! I am really not that much into jets, but this is SO cool! And the build thread itself is great, too! I learned so much reading this! chuck540z3
dodgem37
That is one hell of a model. I sure wish I could do what you do. Damn. Sincerely, Mark chuck540z3
Thunnus
O.M.G. What a beautiful finish! Close-up digital photography has a knack of magnifying even the the smallest of errors. But I don't see ANY flaws. Not even a single grain of paint. Amazing work! Shaka HI and chuck540z3
Wolf Buddee
Fantastic modelling from start to finish Chuck! I'd love to see this one in person some day. In the words of Dr. Hook, "oh man, that's beautiful". Cheers, Wolf chuck540z3
MarioS
Chuck, your attention to detail is just amazing, the cockpit looks so realistic.. the paintwork & detail gone into those engines, exhausts... The amount of time that you have put into building this!! Looking forward to seeing your final photos on this F-15C Cheers Edited November 11, 2017 by MarioS chuck540z3

chuck540z3
Thanks again guys. I appreciate your kind comments very much! As mentioned, I am going on vacation for 2 weeks starting tomorrow, yet this model is only about 2 hours away from completion. The Nav lights are on and all I need to do I add the wing pylons with tanks and missiles which are already assembled as a unit, add the landing gear and doors, and finish it off with all those little probes on the nose. DONE! Very, very tempting to do it right this minute, but I won't. I did this once before going on vacation and, as usual, a big problem came up unexpectedly, which needed a few hours of work as I ran out of time. I worried about that stupid model during my entire vacation, because I hate leaving problems unfixed. A little obsessive? You bet! What I lack in modeling skill is more than made up with my OCD. Anyway, never again. This model can wait a few more weeks. So here's my last pic before I show the final assembled model. With an open cockpit, this bird needs a boarding ladder, but the kit ladder is a BEAR to clean-up with every spindle and every part with TWO seam lines and several pin marks. I was going to leave it off completely because I thought it would detract from the model, but after finding out the Aggressor squadrons painted some of their ladders in camo colors, I just had to give it a try. Asking about F-15 ladders in the General Forum, "Kagemusha" found this one of Chuck Yeager about to board an F-15D at Nellis in 2012. Pretty cool pic of another guy named Chuck, even if it's not me! Note the ladder..... https://i1.wp.com/skytrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/CHUCK_Y7.jpg?resize=1030%2C685 Soo, here's my final "mini-model", using very thin plastic backed sandpaper for the non-slip rails and top step. I also made the handles at the top a bit worn, exposing a bit of the aluminum color underneath, then added a bit of staining. "See" you in a few weeks!
