    Hi all,
The basic Rolls-Royce 'Falcon' V12 engine is complete.
There are other parts that can only be fitted once the engine has been installed in the fuselage.
I've added representations of carburetor/magneto controls and fuel supply/drain pipes.
Although the rear of the engine will hardly be visible once installed.
I've also added oil pipes, spark plugs and ignition leads.

    All with a combination of:
0.2 and 0.3 mm diameter Nickel-Silver tube (controls, spark plugs)
0.3 and 0.5 mm diameter Brass tube (fuel supply/drain pipes)
0.4 mm diameter flexible tube (black) (oil pipes)
Steel coloured silk thread (ignition leads).

Weathered with oil paint and enamel wash.

Well it’s on, but unlike the port wing, the starboard fought me all the way…..it’s almost too good a fit!

Not the easiest wing to fuselage join that I’ve done with that beautiful curve being quite a challenge. Bit of filler and sanding required then a primer to look for other imperfections.

    Howdy, partners…

I’ve now completed the main bomb bay structure as well as the wing bomb cells on the Stirling. 250+ pieces of individually cut Evergreen has got the job done - quite tedious but the results are worth it. There will still be some more to add when the bomb load goes in such as racks and some piping, plus the doors of course.

On the real aircraft the divider between the gear bays and the outermost bomb cell is actually open with the truss work exposed, but I’ve gone for strength over accuracy as beefy card is needed for the wheel bays and general wing structure to give it enough strength to support the model.

I need to finish off the main gear bays but I’ve had enough if cutting plastic strip for the time being so will focus on something else!

    All the best,
    Tom

Very small update.  After a quick enamel wash and a satin varnish I let the clear cure for a few days.  I initially felt that maybe the wash was too subtle, but after the satin varnish I'm happy enough with where it's at before I get into more serious weathering.  Since I plan to leave the port side engine cover off I added a little more wiring to busy it up.  On the topic of cowls I will have to glue down the lower one because the gap is just enough to drive me crazy.  The canopy and windscreen and both just dry fitted at the moment so I can fit the gunsight nearer completion.

While the clear was curing I wanted to build a small 1/35 vehicle to accompany the spit in a small diorama.  Initially I was planning on building a Canadian Military Pattern 15cwt Truck from IBG, but it was a nightmare.  Warped sprue and short shot doors.  I've had iffy luck with IBG stuff, but they're probably my favourite company for the subjects they choose to make.   So as a backup I jumped into a 1/35 Tamiya Jeep.  From what I understand although RAF Sqn weren't typically issued with jeeps, RAF TAF units were since they operated from unfinished forward operating airfields.  My initial plans it to have the Jeep parked close to the Spit with the mechanic using the hood as a workbench.

Sorry for the delays, but thanks for looking.  - Jeff

    F-15E Strike Eagle

    Mission
The F-15E Strike Eagle is a dual-role fighter designed to perform air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. An array of avionics and electronics systems gives the F-15E the capability to fight at low altitude, day or night and in all weather.

    Features
The aircraft uses two crew members, a pilot and a weapon systems officer. Previous models of the F-15 are assigned air-to-air roles; the "E" model is a dual-role fighter. It has the capability to fight its way to a target over long ranges, destroy enemy ground positions and fight its way out.

The aircraft's navigation system uses a laser gyro and a Global Positioning System to continuously monitor the aircraft's position and provide information to the central computer and other systems, including a digital moving map in both cockpits.

The APG-70 radar system allows aircrews to detect ground targets from long ranges. One feature of this system is that after a sweep of a target area, the crew freezes the air-to-ground map then goes back into air-to-air mode to clear for air threats. During the air-to-surface weapon delivery, the pilot is capable of detecting, targeting and engaging air-to-air targets while the WSO designates the ground target.

The low-altitude navigation and targeting infrared for night, or LANTIRN, system allows the aircraft to fly at low altitudes, at night and in any weather conditions, to attack ground targets with a variety of precision-guided and unguided weapons. The LANTIRN system, consisting of two pods attached to the exterior of the air craft, gives the F-15E unequaled accuracy in weapons delivery day or night and in poor weather.

The navigation pod contains terrain-following radar which allows the pilot to safely fly at a very low altitude following cues displayed on a heads-up display. This system also can be coupled to the aircraft's autopilot to provide "hands off" terrain-following capability.
Between April to October of 2018, several F-15Es from the 494th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron (the "Panthers") deployed to an undisclosed location in the Middle East to support Coalition Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve, tasked with striking Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria. While deployed, the Panthers completed nearly 2,000 missions, over 10,000 flying hours, employing more than 500 precision-guided munitions in support of US Central Command operations. On their return to Lakenheath at the end of the deployment, the aircraft were seen sporting some very striking nose art and mission markings.
This is the Tamyia F-1FE 1/32 kit which is a dream to build, painted with Tamyia acrylics, and features 2 x Reedoak figures, this aircraft is based at RAF Lakenheath

Starting to actually cut plastic here.  The ejection seats are pretty good - better then the ones provided in the Academy Su-27 kit for sure.  These build up from 11 pieces, 9 of which are assembled here:

In the kit the seat pads and harness are molded as a single piece.

With the grab handles as a separate piece.

Instead, I'll use the color 3D printed pieces from the Kelik cockpit set.

The seats fit down into a pretty bare-bones cockpit tub.  It looks especially bare because I've scraped off the kit surface relief in preparation for the Kelik panels.

I'm working now on a plan to add detail to that rear bulkhead.

The tub does fit cleanly into the forward fuselage halves.
