Bill M.
In my most recent email ad from Hannant's, I see among the listed “future releasesâ€, a Trumpeter 1/32 P-40F newly listed. Should we really expect a 1/32 P-40F soon? By the way, I saw no Trumpeter TBD on the list. I have given up on ever seeing that kit from Trumpeter. While I would welcome a 1/32 P-40F, I worry that Trumpeter will screw it up— lots of important differences with a Merlin-powered P-40. Hard to beat Derek Bradshaw's P-40F/L conversion for the Hasegawa kits now offered by Grey Matter. Bill M. Derek B
seiran01
I have my doubts - trumpy has had several 1/32 P40s labeled new in the catalog for about as long as the TBD...
Bill M.
Yes, I was aware that Trumpeter had listed various P-40's before, but I don't remember them listing Merlin-powered P-40's. Also, I thought it significant that Hannant's suddenly listed only the P-40F as a coming release and is apparently taking pre-orders for it. Makes me wonder if they know something or not. Bill M. seiran01
I think I saw someone (Cybermodeller new kit release table?) state this as an October release but either way, I'm glad it's finally getting released. Woo!
Tony T
Yes, there was a lively discussion about the P-40F box art last month I'm still wondering if this means we will, in fact, see the Trumpy F-100F and maybe even the Dvastator? LSP_K2
Aside from the silly looking box art, I have high hopes for this kit.
Bill M.
Looks like a short-tailed P-40F. Hope they also do a long- tailed P-40F too. Bill M. LSP_K2
KUROK
I'm pumped about the subject but will wait for a couple of build ups. Trumpeter has let me down before. I have their P-40B in 1/72, 1/48, and 1/32 and all have shape issues.

But how can I pass up on this? Because the nose of the new Trumpeter kit is completely screwed up (not to mention an apparent reprise of Trumpeter's famous shallow P-40 cockpit): https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234993133-132-curtiss-p-40bemnf-kitty-hawktomahawkwarhawk-by-trumpeter-p-40f-released/&do=findComment&comment=3200457

esarmstrong
At first glance, this looks like.... ... junk. In this case, the box art appears to have been an accurate harbinger. What exactly is going on at Trumpeter? Sometimes they release some very nice kits and then at other times, this happens. It's like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
