dora9
So this one is done! A nice kit OOB with lot of details but I decided to up it a notch. #2106 survived Pearl Harbor and Midway. She was a training aircraft for the last part of her career and finished her days at the bottom of lake Michigan. They fished her out and now she reside at the National Navy Museum. You can find the build here, http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=72419&page=1 There was some first on that model, first time use of the hair spray technique for the chipping, first time using Montex masks. In the end I really love the way it came out! The blue gray on top is PRU blue from MM and for the bottom.color, I used Hataka White-Gray FS 36628. Aligning the mask is a bit mind nerving, but if you take your time the results are amazing. So hope you like it and thanks for looking! Bill Cross
My late father-in-law, Lance Corporal John P. DiNardo, was a decorated gunner on a Dauntless flying off a carrier later in the war. Thanks for sharing this. dora9 and ScoobyDoo
