She is done. No where near perfect or even up to scratch with the usual superb work of others on this forum, but I'm content I have this on the shelf now. WIP can be found here.

  • Quinta cockpit
  • Reskit wheels, AIM-9J and inner LAU-17 pylons (Reskit exhausts were saved for the Academy F-4E because I had last minute fit-issues and didn't want to screw up this late in the build)
  • TISEO resin-copied from the Academy kit
  • Aerocraft brass landing gear
  • Procal stencil decals set
  • Unit markings and serial number made with masks
  • Unit insignia and crew names made with laser printer on decal paper
  • Raised back seat by 3mm

Hi

As I said in the introduction of your thread, I am (was) not so enthusiastic about the Revell/ Academy kit, too many issues, lack of details etc.… but  you come here with this kit, and  prove that we can get a very convincing interpretation of the F-4 ... congrats comrade, I like a lot...

Thank you guys. Alain, it's not even in the same league as yours which was stunning, but it's the best model I ever made. I learned a lot and it gave me great pleasure to build this one, even with it's shortcomings

Absolutely superb job Leon, your F4 is a real head-turner!   I’d be very proud to have that in my display cabinet (if it fitted).

Thank you so much Max! Coming from you I feel very honored.

True. And it's just looking so beautiful in SEA coat.

To me this F4 looks plenty perfect!  When I saw the first image I did a double take, even though I already knew its a scale model, if I didn't know that, I could easily be convinced it's an image of the real thing.  Your workmanship is exquisite.

Wow! Thank you so much Marc. It was the most fun in a long time. A lot of sentimental love went in to it, maybe that shows. Thank you very much!
