Thanks Iain, she’s not a natural beauty, not sleek and streamlined even, but she has so much charisma! I hope calling the Gauntlet a “she” doesn’t offend any sensitive snowflakes…..I’m sure we’re all too grounded for that sort of c**p! :D

I can't think of a kit that has given me more satisfaction than Silver Wings Gauntlet:

Build thread and lots of lovely period photos:

My thanks to all those who helped me along the way, it certainly wasn't a straightforward build and it had its "moments" but the end result is satisfying.

Beauty of a build, Max!

May I post it on the website?

Very nice Max. Stick some ruddy great wooden chocks on there and it would look perfectly real.

Impressed by your base too. The ground cover and dry grass appears very convincing.

Splendid job.

Cheers.

Please share with us: how did you do the sky? :hmmm:

Thank you old chum, the sky is just as it was.  I had been waiting for nearly a fortnight for the right light conditions so "carpe diem"!  The HDR process helped to define and sharpen the lighting slightly.

Buy one, get one free:

Never heard of the Gauntlet before! What a pretty plane! Great rigging and decals.

Thank you, she’s just one of many beautiful planes produced during the golden era of the 1930s, there were a few ugly sisters too though!
