As this build has been used as a test bed for trying out a bunch of different techniques, I tried one more thing that is constantly the bane of my existence Aerial wires. The little plastic masts are about as durable as wet paper, and the im never satisfied with the superglued ends. This time, I'm having a do at making it out of soldered tube and wire. I cut a slit down the side of some thin brass tube, and slipped inside some looped fine gauge wire. This was soldered together and filed to shape. The mast is long enough that it extends all the way down to attach to the cockpit floor. Nice and secure. A reciever loop was also made and glued into the vertical stabilizer. Ignore all the paint touch-ups needed. They'll come once everything is assembled. The engine was glued in place with 2 part epoxy. Followed by the cowling and main gear struts. The gear retraction actuators were pretty pland in the kit, so replacements were made using various diameters of brass tube and rod. The ends of the rod were squished flat in a pair of pliers, filed to shape to look like the attaching rod-ends and a sliver of plastic tube was affixed to replicate the bolt head. the cockpit door was removed early on in the construction phase, to pose open. Locking pins and handle were added, and the door attached. Sofar so good! Denzil Learstang, Greg W, scvrobeson and 18 others 20

Thanks, Quang Thanks mate! Airbrush is an Iwata eclipse HP CS with a .35 needle. Paint is all MRP straight from the jars. Air pressure, I couldn't tell you, I wound it down quite a lot, the lowest pressure that the paint would happily spray at. I just blow air through the gun, onto the soft of my wrist until it feels "right". This did mean that there was a LOT of tip build up of dried paint, and the needle required cleaning every minute or so. Hope that helps Denzil Greg W, Furie, monthebiff and 1 other

RadBaron
Little breakables time. I've wanted to try this approach to aerial wires for a while and sofar so good. Fine aluminum tube and fine EZ Line Nav lights from stretched sprue Master gun barrels And guess who forgot the aileron top-side counter weights? The seatbelt is a combination of kit supplied photo-etch, kits-world seatbelt 3D decal and cheap chain from hobby lobby. Italian seatbelts are a monstrosity! Which brings us here. Few little touchups and some cleaning and she'll be finished My build room deserves one hell of a cleanup once this one is in the cabinet Denzil Troy Molitor, scvrobeson, patricksparks and 8 others

Dpgsbody55
Stunning. I've done that camo scheme with a brush and it came out well enough, but I think doing it with an airbrush is a big step up, and a testament to your talent and perseverance. I like the cockpit and engine too. Cheers, Michael RadBaron
