I have at least three Pontos sets: two in 1/200 scale and one (maybe two*) in 1/72 scale. Even in those scales there are an amazing number of tiny pieces. I can only imagine how microscopic the pieces are for their 1/700 set.

Cheers,  Tom

*I strongly suspect Pontos provided the extra parts in my Revell Type VIIC/41 Platinum kit.

Very pretty boat.  Bad way for it to die.  Isn’t there a really HUGE model of it in Japan somewhere?  I mean REALLY big?

The display base for this beast could cost as much as the kit. My plan for the HMS Rodney I’m building is to get an aquarium from the petstore, flip it upside down, and voila! $100, or cheaper when there’s a sale.

The Tamiya 1/350 2011 new tool Yamato is plenty big for me.

I have that kit as well. It is big!

I may have to eventually snatch the Takom 1:72 Yamato turret kit.

Its a nice kit - and a great idea - I built it about a year ago just to take a small break from 1/32 projects.  I also have the Bismarck turret and I will likely also get the New Jersey Kit. Takom have some really cool ideas for new kits in my opinion.

Like 99% sure that they are. I think they even reboxed some of the earlier Trumpeter ship kits.

I've been told that every time a new company starts up in China they get a boat-load of money. So that explains the many Trumpeter off-springs..: a new boatload every time, and I suppose Trumpeter ownership  balance neatly on the edge of 'new-company' and 'sister-company'

Fine with me - we are getting loads of great kits
