I think a very long time ago I'd thought of duplicating the Matchbox gull wing section to improve the ancient Revell Spitfire I kit.

As I recall it was a horrible flat wide shape that didn't work, at least for me. I've still got a Warbirds Griffon nose along with Jen's

Mk47 set in case the desire to have another go returns.

This is my favorite version of the Spifire!! Big tail/Griffon/contrarotating prop/bubble lowback canopy....don't get much better!! Looking forward to the build!!

Fascinating project, Shogun! I built the Matchbox kit as a Mk 24 a few years back, and have another ready for the Freightdog Seafire conversion at some point, so I'll be following your progress with interest! You've already improved the look of the panel trenches dramatically.
