kensar
Another update. Covered the landing gear spreader bar with paper and painted. Looks as rough as the real ones. Greg W, Out2gtcha, Rivas and 2 others
kensar
Got more painting done and some details added. Decaling done as well. My decal sheet from FFSMC had black '7's, but I think red is the correct color, so out came the Silouette cutter. Get your chicken on! Slight issue with the decals. They're translucient, but the issue is that they are not printed with the same color intensity. The blue band around the chicken is lighter and greener on one side than the other. I can't fix that now, and many may not even notice, so I'm moving on. More details and weathering coming up. scvrobeson, Model_Monkey, Out2gtcha and 6 others

kensar
Thanks for leaving the comments, folks. Another update here. I've put in a bunch of panel fasteners. The front end is on now. Worked the landing gear. Thread for bungies. Tied in the turnbuckles with monofilament. Test fit of the landing gear. Before attaching the landing gear, I thought I should tackle the louvers. I painted the openings using oil paint and a steady hand. Thanks for following along. Model_Monkey, scvrobeson, Trak-Tor and 8 others
europapete
This is looking great, Ken. I recieved the chicken sheet a couple of days ago, will check the blue colour match. What did you use for the cowl fasteners? the Brengun PE set? Regards, Pete in RI
kensar
Hi Pete. My decal sheet showed no signs of the variation in colors. It was only after I applied them that it became apparent. They appear to be quite transparent, as well, but this was not a bad thing here. The image looks like it was printed on the fuselage. I used soft 0.008" beading wire to make the fasteners. Pinch the end in some pliers and cut off with scissors. europapete
kensar
Got some weathering done with pastels and oils. Now adding a few more details on the fuselage before getting serious with the struts. kensar
Thanks for the comments Mike, Maru, and Gazzas I've added more detail to the fuselage and worked on the struts. New gunsight made Exhaust pipes added. The tips are from the PART PE set for the SPAD VII The struts have a lot of detail on them. Here, I have put pieces of monofilament in the rigging holes while I painted the blue rigging points to keep paint out of the tiny holes. scvrobeson, Out2gtcha, Rivas and 5 others

kensar
The latest work on this - rigging. Also, the top wing is on. I would suggest pinning the struts to the wings for a more robust attachment (wish I had). Not to much more to do.
