kkarlsen
I've decided to continue the 'Seaplane' fighter theme with another conversion. Albatros W.4 converted from Roden's Albatros D.I. Something like this, from this... Roden 1/32 Albatros D.I. Although they look a lot alike, there is a great many differenced with the two aircraft. The most obvious is of course the floats... But the wings are the most different and will need a complete remodelling. Parts for one float. Basic shape of the float.... kkarlsen
Working on the wings...A bit of a mess really. First extending the span from 8,5 m to the 9,5 m of the W.4. with resin inserts. Next step will be to somehow widening of the wing chord by a 'feet' Kent Gazzas, Dart_Schatten, LSP_Kevin and 7 others
seiran01
Good start! Have you decided which production batch you’re modeling? 1st: one gun, ear radiators 2nd: 2 guns, ear radiators 3rd and 4th, wing radiator and ailerons on all 4 wings kkarlsen and mpk 1

Right now my interest is circling around the #911 of 'Leutnant zur See' Schultz, who downed 3 enemy aircraft while flying it. That would be the first 'batch' of ten - 1 gun ear radiators and no naval hex. The other 'subject' is this plane... Albatros W.4 #1115 of Erich Kaestner. Third batch with two guns, ear radiators and naval hex... After that, you'll never try adding bits to kit wings again I also learned the hard way, trying to make up taper wings for a Camel. I've made quite a few wings since then, it's so much easier Richard kkarlsen

kkarlsen
Float ready for casting... And a big leap forward on the wings with my new favorite David 400 Pen Sander tool - It's just awesome for this kind of work! Gazzas
Looks good. I was wondering where the inserted bit would go. kkarlsen
