RadBaron
G'day all, this will be my addition to the GB Finished as A27-16 in the 76 squadron high vis paint scheme. I'll be using Darren Mottram's fantastic walkaround pics found here: http://motty.hobbyvista.com/Articles/hawkdm_16-01.html Denzil Greg W, mozart, Kagemusha and 8 others
RadBaron
Ok, my first GB here On the bench I started this kit many years and several continents ago. Managed to get this far before packing up and moving off to the next employment location! This kit also has my first rudimentary attempts at replicating uneven, stressed skins. Ive got a bit of a better grasp of it now, and will continue the effect over the airframe where applicable! Time to make a plan of attack! Out2gtcha
Very cool! You really dont see these kits anymore. I like that black and grey scheme a lot. RadBaron

RadBaron
Quick piece together to see what we're up against. Seems doable. Derek B, Kagemusha, Greg W and 6 others
RadBaron
Update time! Some fiddly fun to detail and change the cockpit layout to suit the RAAF example. Cockpit sidewall pocket. Burnishing foil over a piece of scrap plastic card. Installed. Corrugated floorboards. A pattern was made of plastic and and stretched sprue. Foil was burnished over the top and cut to size Installed. Now to repeat x4! Cockpit side consoles have also been altered. Original in the front pit, modified in the rear. RadBaron
A few more details in the rear pit and a test fit. Now to do the same to the front cockpit and then some paint! That seat is going to want a bit of work. It looks rather bland as is. Out2gtcha, mgbooyv8, Greg W and 7 others
RadBaron
Little bit more work on the cockpit. I didn't like the way the main wheel wells were constructed in the kit, so i chopped up the 'roof panel' and assembled each side onto its respective upper wing. This will make it easier to add some wiring and plumbing in the future. Intakes have been assembled and filling has begun. I'm trying out Bondo Glazing and Spot Putty on this build. I miss the old fashioned squadron Green and White! Denzil. LSP_Kevin, mgbooyv8, Greg W and 4 others
RadBaron
Work begins on the front cockpit. The reference pics on the website linked on my first post shows differences between the structure of the kit's cockpit sidewalls and cockpit divider, and the real thing. Out with razor saws. Before After Moulds were taken of parts of the front cockpit panel to make copies of switches and knobs and things. I figured I'd just build this kit OOB, and focus on the paint scheme, but as the build plods forwards, i'm finding more and more things to tidy up. Great fun! Thanks mate! Its been a long time since I've built anything other than box-stock, so its a welcome return to building rather than just assembling
Dragon
Liking the detailing! What material is that for making the molds?

Handy stuff, mix the 2 parts together and then you've got a couple of minutes to make your mold before it cures to the consistency of dried RTV silicon. If it wasnt for the enormous greenhouse, i'd not have bothered at all Do you have involvement with the real things? Derek B
