Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, Had a disaster of an evening! Putting the exhausts on the D-13 and the plastic plate that goes inside to hold them in place came away from the resin fuselage! So I snipped thru the actuator rods I'd put on the other day and yanked the nose cowling off. If you go back a few pages you'll see I had to shove on a slab of plastic inside to hold the nose on originally. Now I had to cut thru that to pull out the plastic part rattling around inside, clean it up then somehow superglue it back inside again. I've got big hands so it was little finger in the dyke to stop the flood of despair washing over me and to shove the plastic bit into place. Was it a PITA? Was it ever! Yellow 10 nearly flew out of my front bedroom window! Not a happy Brucie! But it's all back together and nothing much to show. Where I had to hold onto the resin quite firmly to cut and hack there are some bits of worn paint on high edges but nothing that can't be touched in fairly easily. You can't see where I cut the rods either. And the exhausts are on. A couple of hours of sheer panic though! I could see a couple of months worth of work going down the pan. But it's done. I can make the damage good. The joys of modelling! Regards, Bruce Crosby

Bruce_Crosby
Getting near the end now! I spent the day making Pitot tubes from Albion Alloys telescoping brass tube. Also I managed to knock off the aerial post on the D-13 and liberated one from another kit and pinned it in place.
