...been here awhile, but I don't think I ever said hello. Rude. So, hello.

I work as a aerospace industry analyst in the DC area, focusing mainly on the space side of things. I'm also a freelance artist and a docent at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center. My interest in scale models is broad and very much depends on my mood. I like visually interesting science fiction subjects, WWII aircraft, and the occasional random subject (a 747-8 somehow recently found itself on my workbench, for instance). Most photos of me are goofy. But if you're going to be goofy, do so standing next to Neil Armstrong.

Haha. I was just thinking about starting a thread like this when I found this one!
My avatar photo is actually me ;) just a few years ago though. Have more grey in the hair now.
I'm an Air Traffic Controller by profession - 36 years now, but also did I few years of professional headshot and portrait photography in my spare time when I was in the Middle East.
Born and raised in South Africa, started my ATC career there, did civvy and a bit of military controlling (2 years), then 12 years at Dubai Approach, and now in not sunny New Zealand. Been here for almost 7 years, started off on Wellington Approach, currently Auckland Approach.

Hi all

No photos of my fat head, but rather following through on a discussion with Kevin at Model Expo a couple of weeks back to start posting, and work out how to host images. Got my act together and signed up to Flickr.

Here are my two very recent builds, both Kotare kits, their amazing new Bf 109K-4 and their first release, Spit Mk.1a. These are my first 32 scale kits, and won't be my last.

I will be starting a build log at some point soon, I promise Kevin!

Thanks, Sam! Beautiful models. As a dedicated aircraft modeller, it frustrates me no end that you, as a dedicated armour modeller, still build better aircraft models than I do.

:P
