oppenheimer
Ok, so here it is, ready for roundels and codes to be painted and after that the paneling job will start, kind of start liking this color, didn't like at all at the beginning looks like a rotten egg, i have a doubt about the red of the roundels, did it fade under the sun?? i have read that the red color was a strong paint and even if the airplane was all bitten up the red color stayed unfaded, is that true, i dont whant to mess it up. Uncarina
Jorge, I would be curious as well to see about how the roundels fade. In the meantime, I like your restrained yet apparent weathering of the camouflage. Very inspiring. Cheers, Tom

Big bad Wolf
This is outstanding work, Oppenheimer! As I'm starting in modelbuilding of aircrafts - coming from the gaming side of the intrest for airframes & engines - I've got a question about the colouring: Is the intresting light blue inside proved to be original Imperial Japanese? is it a pure assumption of your own? or just a fun colour due to the fact that this is a testing airframe? I belief to've it seen on the manuals of my Wingnuts Sopwith Snake Yours, Christian Sorry for the questionable punctuation - I've never learnd about in school
oppenheimer
Christian, the metallic blue green in the wheel wells is the original color on early Zeros, it is call OATAKE it is an anti corrosive paint. Jorge Big bad Wolf
brahman104
Absolutely beautiful Jorge! Are you using pigments or powders for the staining? Craig
oppenheimer
Craig i use Tamiya Weathering Compound for some staining, like the one on the wing root where the pilot walks to the cockpit, the rest is airbrush work Jorge brahman104
