    feel your pain...

    This one:

    Su27_064_final.jpg

fell off the shelf one month after being built ...

One of the grandkid of the guy I built it for slide it just a bit too much. Total loss and redoing the chute wires was not something I was ready to do 3 times (I had it twice already)

I'm usually not attached to model once built, but hearing it made me sad.

Oh i remember following this build on ARC

Great model. Shame for its destiny.

I just move and unoacked 17 boxes of built models, my a7 and su34 are know in queue for the repair bay

Man that totally sucks.  Has there been any anti-oil stuff going on in your area? If not was the house a repo?

Nope not a repo, havent heard of any manifestations either, if there was jokes on them they burned my tesla charger!

Also speaking of EV's the jetta had a classic hood battery vs the a7 had trunk battery, i can tell you when the battery in the jetta started burning i knew, also damage is much worst, if one of the cars was an EV..... Cant imagine the blaze

    Hey Neo,

Read this entire thread twice.  Upset for your lost, obviously.  Beyond words for any real explanations.  I worked in commercial aircrsft sales as a tech exec for 35 years.  I have many friends in the industry and pilot (friends) I could call upon that would ferry my aircraft worldwide.  I mentioned this story to my good friend & retired Captain of many years who also worked as a reserve police officer (LA police) on his none flying days as a reserve office.  (His father was a motorcycle police in WA) I mentioned something to him about your story / situation about this horrible incident .  My friend quickly replied back to me as if "things just don't seem to add up,"  here.  He offered some direct advice without any correlation to any person doing someone like this. He suggested it "MIGHT" have to do with the previous owners and a vindictive move by someone else they greatly offended (previous homeowners) that didn't realize the owners had already moved from the property? Could this be possible?  Quick sale, perhaps?  Over eager in help offering solutions to this episode and also wanting to be involved is also an important sign?  Keep us posted.  Locking my doors again,   Grrr.

    Chin up mate.

Thanks you for the insight, tbh this is the main assumption from our part but i dont want to falsely accuse anyone, previous owners seamed like really nice folks. So really hard to tell. But with the time frame of the move vs incident if this was targetted it could not have been us.

Wow! Out of curiosity, is your garage smaller than average?

I feel you though, my long bed Taco is lifted and got quite huge recently and now fits in the garage by less than 1" in height, and by a foot or so in length.

Its what they call a 1.5, its 19x13.5ft

    But the a7 is 16.6ft by6.3

So with the freezer in there dosent leave much room unless i do car only

…I have 2 cameras pointed at my Hilux. It’s the only one in Iowa, and draws a crowd every time I back out of the driveway- I also roll armed. Iowans are wonderful, but you never truly know-

    P

Unfortunately cameras in my case only made insurance pay faster cuz it was clearly a crime. A good friend of mine got his truck stolen last week in another oart of the city, cameras too but its not stopping perps

As a car guy I am twitching inside with unsaddling urge to find that kid and bring him to your basement, you know ?... you, him, zip ties and a rusty pipe-wrench..... ok, seriously,  I am relieved that you and your family are safe, although the trauma related to such a nasty experience might be lingering in the background for quite a while. I am really sorry Neo. Stay strong.

Yeah seriously. And with all the new gun control laws in Canada, a man cant even have fun!

all kidding aside, just had some dude run up to my front door drop a large brown bag take a pic and take in an extremely fast walk..... at like 9:45pm..... Was like WTF ran to the door..... was Amazon delivery... I think I'm still on edge

  7. Thanks, everyone for the kind words and support !! The only other theory is that the target was the previous owners, this is a nice neighbourhood with tons of fancy cars,  if this had happened where I lived before jealousy would have made sense, here it makes a lot less. A theory is that one of the kids who lived here before had a red sports car so maybe it's an idiot who was late to the party and thought it was his car vs mine.

We are super quiet ppl don't see anyone wanting to get at me or try to murder my family in the process.

Police were present in the first day , but i think they have more important cases to work, they said there would be active patrols by my house for at least 3months, my cameras have not spotted a cop car since the event! The previous owners even called me saying they would gladly talk to the police if it would help, they still haven't been contacted and its been over a month, and ive been unable to reach my assigned detective. i know i know their busy, just wished for once i could get attention from them apart from getting pulled over because my wheels are wide or my window tint is to dark

  8. To my fellow LSP’ers

I'm not the type to share personal events on open forums but in this case, I feel I could use some support.

After a 5 years journey of seeking a new house in this crazy market, we moved to our new dream house in July, Everything was perfect and we felt lucky and safe in our new home.

But 24 days after our move a traumatic event occurred, in the middle of the night someone came to our home and poured gas on both of our cars and set them on fire!

The first ignition made a loud explosion sound that woke up the rest of my life, and when we walked to the window she saw my car on fire and woke me up.
I jumped out of bed, got pants on and went straight into firefighting mode while she took care of the kids and took them to safety.

It took 2 minutes from ignition for me to be fighting the fire and the firefighter took only 10 minutes to reach us. I have to say I've experienced a lot of extreme things in my life but this was one of the most intense ones.

Luckily my hosing dons saved my house and my neighbour's house, but when the battery on one of the cars went up and the tires exploded I feared that what I was fighting was bigger than what I could handle. Thank god the firemen came fast! The captain did say that I saved both houses in my actions but it's been 3 weeks now and we are still traumatized by the events and when I get 3 hours of sleep at night it's currently a victory.

I know at the end of the day everyone is safe but I lost a unique 1/150 audi a7 competition that is not replaceable and I feel that whatever I put in the driveway next could be the next fire hazard….

I'm not looking for pity or anything. I just needed to share this event with the ppl I share my favourite hobby with!

I can say one thing the 15 plus years I’ve been with my spouse complaining that she wakes up on any little noise I make in the house late at night really made up for it that night because if she would not have woken up and looked outside this post would be in the deceased channel!

Thank you guys for being here,

modeling is on pause due to events

Now, that's very good news, indeed!

    Chris.

FYI it's only a guess considering they are part of the 2023 Revell catalog starting at page 10

    https://catalog.revell.de/pdfviewer/revell-general-catalogue-2023/?auto_viewer=true#page=&zoom=auto&pagemode=none

    and on their web site

    revell.de/en/products/licences/star-wars/

I got crazy exited when I saw Imperial Shuttle Tydirium  but then i saw Scale: 1:106  so I'm assuming its a rebox of their really old kit

I do have to say the Razor Crest is amazingly good, and really hard to get

I've built a few newer AMT kits and some had decent fit and engineering..........

    Others quite the opposite.

Modern Bandai kits (who previously had the contract for all Star Wars kits) are the absolute pinnacle of IM kits for fit and engineering; they fit SO well in fact that a lot of the glue together kits don't need glue at all.

Multiple colors on a single sprue, engineering easily in par Tamiya, and fit as good or better that some of the WnW kits I've put together.

Try building a modern Bandai kit, and you will definitely be asking yourself why the hell they dont make aircraft kits!

If they did I may never buy another brand of kit again.

Completely agree.Bandai kits make Tamiya kit feel like old 1/48 hasegawa jets in comparasing.

From my understanding all the Bandai Star Wars is going to be distributed/reboxed by Revell Germany
