I've never built a vac, I've done just about everything else including wood ships, model cars, slot cars, model ships, HO trains, RC Airplanes, RC Car, RC tanks and rockets but never a vac

Perhaps it's time to give it a go?

Hi Matt, hi Harv, glad you like the way the pilot is coming along. Thanks for taking the time to add your thoughts, much appreciated
Lol! If this was a WWII bird it could be quite possible Cees. He does bare a passing resemblance to HRH does n't he?

Hi Dan, thanks for the encouraging comments, much appreciated. It was quite fiddly to do. I spent some time working out roughly which belt went where. Then it was a case of putting them in place one at a time.

The images below show some more work on the pilot.

He's strapped into his seat now.

I've added his wristwatch, something I've been wanting to try for a while.

The silver sliver at the top of his arm is a pen but I can see I've squashed it a bit so I'll need to straighten that back out.

His left arm will be resting in the open door with his hand on the edge (hopefully) Somehow I've got to work out how to add the arm before I paint the fuselage.

One option might be to paint the door and fuselage around the door then mask it all off including his arm.

The cockpit is nearly complete now. I hope to get the control column painted and fixed in place tomorrow which will allow me to add the right arm before closing up the fuselage.

    Bye for now,

    Cheers.

This is looking fantastic, and the wallet is going to take a hit whatever . I'm dreading having to buy Bomber, Fighter, and single/two stage variants of each, but I will.

Had a quick chat to Neil at Telford and I got the impression he really wants this to be right, so I'm willing to wait until he has it as he wants it.

I agree with Tnarg. Glad you take time to get things right. Sure, I want to get my hands on a DXXI, but I'd rather have a excellent model then a mediocre one.

    Happy new year!

No need to apologize for doing the right thing. I appreciate the quality and desire to approach perfection that characterizes your products.

The chance to get a fine PZL P.11 and Fokker D.XXI in 1/32 scale is really worth the wait to get it right.

    Dear Friends and Customers,

Since the beginning of work on the Fokker DXXI and PZL P.11, we rightly assumed that they would be very ambitious projects. We want to give modellers a thrill while opening these boxes. The size and complexity of the models, which are their key advantages, have a decisive influence on the course of a production. Now, nearly completing the work, we can see how many details still need to be fixed. Releasing such historically significant subjects, we must make sure that any errors are eliminated to a level allowing full enjoyment of the box' content. Looking realistically at the current progress and remaining workload, we came to the conclusion that we need a little more time. The team is working at the maximum speed but we need additional few weeks and therefore have to move the Fokker DXXI's release date forward to the end of January. We feel that we owe you apologies for this. We admit we set the initial date too soon and it is our lesson for the future. We duly apologize and we thank you for the support you show us every day. We really appreciate it. It gives us extra strength.

Yes, it's crude, lacks detail and has a terrible canopy, same as the 1/32 version. But is a great
Canvas to build a very nice Sea Fury. I like Hobbycraft kits just because of that.
    Very nice model Brad

Had fun with the Camo, knocked over my paint pot, only one I had of RAF green [xtracrylix], so had to scoop up off the table
& put back into a mixing jar

    Alan,
Because they are the five cavity type, I used Barracuda wheels on my Tempest too and those were of the four cavity type.
Later RAF aircraft used lessen cavities in the wheels. Postwar there were even three cavity wheels.

We used to have a Typhoon rear fuselage on display in our museum. Although it was very smooth there were certainly ripples in the skin from rivetting apart from the overlapping skinpanels.
