BloorwestSiR
Picts too small, Carl. I can't see what you're trying to convey.... That I've managed to start three of these and really only gotten as far as removing the BDR panels. All three have different panels off so I don't know if that's a good thing or not... BloorwestSiR
We're into full on renos in our house so it's been slow getting to the workbench.I've started fitting the TISEO to the wing.I cut out the requisite panels from the upper and lower wing parts.Test fitting shows it's pretty good.I won't do the final fit and putty until I have the wing attached to the fuselage due to the way they're designed. Bill_S
Off to a great start, Carl! I loved building the Phantom. LSP_Paul, BloorwestSiR and Shaka HI
R Palimaka
Great Start Carl! Like others have said, it's always fun following your builds, lots of clear description and good photos. I'm always astounded at how you end up working on two or three at a time! I do like Phantoms if we're talking jets. I always remember the Michigan ANG birds, Selfridge was just across Lake St. Clair from my hometown. I'm old enough to remember the F-106s too. Finn
Carl you could always still go with a slat E in SEA: Jari BloorwestSiR, CANicoll, Bill_S and 3 others

If you haven't seen a 104 at an air show, you haven't been to an airshow. BloorwestSiR

BloorwestSiR
Off to a great start, Carl! I loved building the Phantom. Thanks Bill! I built so many as kid it just seems a natural choice.

I sometimes wonder about the quality of my pics since I take them on my workbench and usually during a build session. They're certainly not glamour shots that some members do. I never saw the F-106 fly but did see various Phantoms strut their stuff.
BloorwestSiR
Carl you could always still go with a slat E in SEA: Jari Jari, some great photos as always. I'm planning to do a hard wing E in the SEA scheme eventually. I'll probably use Zotz's decal sheet for it. BradG

I can't recall if I ever saw an F-104 at an airshow. I know they were around. I do remember the Voodoo though. Loud, smoky and imposing.
BloorwestSiR
I've been slowly working on the cockpit. I went through my spares to see what was usable. I found what was left of an Avionix cockpit set and decided to use the sidewalls from it along with the rear radar console. I carefully removed the raised details on the IP to make way for the Eduard coloured PE. I then gave the parts a coat of grey paint. Once dry, I masked off the are panels for the black. dmthamade, BradG, Shaka HI and 1 other
BloorwestSiR
I then airbrushed the black onto the Side consoles. With the tape removed: Now to start painting the various details on. BloorwestSiR
I used a Gundam paint marker to do the various switches and buttons in white and then attached the side consoles to the tub. Hopefully I'll get a bit more done in they next few days. Carl Whitey, Shaka HI, sandokan and 6 others
dmthamade
Consoles looking great, Carl. Are they better than the Eduard color PE? How did the eye operation turn out? Obviously successful. Don BloorwestSiR
