Yeh you can make it out just below…anyways- Kotare yeh look the Spit was a top choice to make a return but where so they go from there? Spit Mkviii, Mustang, FW190, 109 ? These sell, but lots of others out there or potentially to be released. The market for 1/32 kits is fairly tight or slight. If they venture onto a less popular subject- well they already had the experience with WNW and can’t risk going into the red. Or the venture will be short lived It will be just interesting to see what way they go Edited November 22, 2023 by Pup7309 MikeC and Pete Roberts

The Spitfire is iconic, and will sell, but you can only flog that horse so much until it rolls over and says ‘enough already!’ Richard and the team have stated (IIRC) that they have some favourite subjects in mind for the Kotare schedule. It would be nice to know what their favourites are, but that would spoil the anticipation. It did sound like they were going to follow their own tastes for future subjects, but they still have to pay the bills which might determine what makes it into a kitset. Will be intriguing to see. I do like the research they put in and the quality of their product, so I hope they choose wisely. I personally would like to see more of their kitsets (especially Battle of Britain orientated!) I think BoB is where their interest lies?- or could be much broader than that. I mean they could like classic cars (omg here comes a whole side thread) but might stick to aircraft. But which ones? BoB stuff could also spread to Middle and Far East schemes. But you’re right even with the Spit you can only flog that so far until every stash hits saturation point (if there is such a thing!) Or the venture will be short lived It will be just interesting to see what way they go Tamiya have the Spit MKVIII and P-51D covered. Nobody does a well-engineered P-51B/C so that would be a possibility. Fw190 and Bf109 are also no-brainers to put in the catalogue. The Bf109D has been barely covered. Do we know the market for 1/32 kits is slight? Is there any data to support that? I do get however that less 1/32 than 1/72 or 1/48 will be sold just on the basis of cost. 23 hours ago, Pup7309 said: I think BoB is where their interest lies?- or could be much broader than that. I am sure that, if anyone from KOtare is reading they are laughing their a$$es off at all of this. What the many pages devoted to our speculations does demonstrate is how much at least some of this community care about the success of this venture. Actually no evidence 1/32 is smaller except the proportion of kits in what’s left of our bricks and mortar stores. It seems now half of the stock is Gundam then you can break down all the categories till 1/32 and 1/24 a/c are reached.
