LSP_Kevin
Very nice work, Dave. Those landing gear legs look great, and were probably a whole lot less work than mine! I think you're just pulling ahead of me now. Kev denders

LSP_Kevin
Looks great, Dave! I chose a camouflaged scheme for mine, as I figured a natural metal finish wouldn't look great on all that raised surface detail. But yours does! Kev

denders
Kev, that raised detail makes it feel like I need to sand it. One thing I overlooked, the canopy is supposed to be OD but I thought it was black. Of course, I didn't realize it 'til the decal for the kill markings was in place. KUROK
Sweet! Man, you are lapping me big time with progress. Your NMF looks spot-on!
denders
Thanks folks! All the paint is MRP. The wings are White Aluminum, the fuselage is Super Silver, and I masked off the gun covers and the gun port areas for some Duraluminum. The exhaust ports are Burnt Iron and touches of Exhaust Metal. These markings are painted. The rest of the markings will be Kits World decals. SB had decals on special last weekend, so I ordered a second set of decals. That way I can correct the canopy color mess up. Alain Gadbois and LSP_Kevin
denders
Decals started. The replacement 'kill' markings are on the canopy frame after repainting it OD. The propeller decals are from an Airscale sheet. The 'R' on the tail is from the Kits World decals. I'm waiting to see how it settles down with Micro SOL. denders
It's getting there. A fair amount of Micro Sol was necessary for the nose, but it's not bad. I expected more trouble with the nose decals. I imagine the decals are for either the Tamiya or Revell P-51D kits. Only one decal to go. That decal is placed over top of the left side nose decal, so I think I'll get these decals trimmed up and a few paint touchups before a shot of clear over the area where "Chatanooga Choo Choo" goes. denders
The last decal is on. I need to touch up a few items and I think I'll run some panel liner into the recessed panel lines that exist. denders
A little progress. The Corsair had had bench time preference and we were away last week. Need to work on the gun sight. Troy Molitor, Shoggz, LSP_Kevin and 6 others
