P-51D "Chattanooga Choo Choo" Hasegawa

I wasn't going to get into this group build, but a couple of weeks ago I changed my mind.

 

I picked this up at a show last fall.

 

 

It came with these additions.

 

 

The kit decals have brown marks on them as well as the Aeromaster decals in the photo. and of course, the Kits World decals are for a B/C and not a D.

 

So when SB had a PE sale a couple weekends ago, I added these to the pile.

 

 

 

I'll get started on it after I finish "Claude", which is almost there.

I'm halfway through the one I started a couple of GBs ago! If you finish yours before I can finish mine, I will hang my head in deserved shame. But I'll be following your build Dave, and I'm sure it will give me inspiration to get back to mine.

Instrument Panel is done. There may be a few little bits from the Eduard Cockpit Placards set to add that weren't part of the I set.

I picked up the Eduard "Look" panel for my Revell D-5. I should have got the set you are using, or the Yahu panel, instead. Not crazy about the "look of the 'Look' " panel.

I've not made a lot of progress on this one, but I did pick this up to add to it.

Well, back to the Mustang.

Just about ready to place parts and close up the fuselage. Some lead wire for the radios, the Eduard cockpit placards add interest and color. The decals on the seat were a bit fiddly, but it works.

Wings and tail surfaces are on. I'm impressed with the fuselage/wings fit, nice.
