Stokey Pete Posted January 28, 2023 Author Share Posted January 28, 2023 A nice surprise dropped on my doorstep this morning. A mere 10 days after ordering with Jim at Aeromasks. I can say with all sincerity that this is an astoundingly good set. It’s comprehensive, clearly instructed for its use, and even has transfer tape on some of the more complex shapes. I’m blown away at the value for money this set gives. There are 16 (yes 16) sheets of masking in total. Giving me flexibility on which order I choose to apply the colours. I did some cleaning of my shelves, and rearranged a few around. Leaving me with this space. I want to dramatic and aggressive. So I’m looking into this pose. Stokey Pete Posted February 7, 2023 Author Share Posted February 7, 2023 No real progress to report on, other than I’m a bit stuck on the colours to use. The instructions call out for: Black. FS33613-radome tan or FS33722-desert sand. FS30070 which is some sort of red brown that I think is far too dark. And I may have to go with self mixing the colours. These are MRP out of the bottle. From most photos I’ve seen, the tan looks warmer, so I’m gonna add a drop or two of orange or yellow to warm it up. I’ve seen a couple of images of this particular airframe, using a centreline tank ‘liberated’ from another jet. It looks cool as well so had to do it.
