That’s pretty cool.

the Archer (both IR and SAR flavors) are pretty damn good missiles.

They smoke quite a bit. A bonus if you are defending against one.

 Thanks for posting!

cheers

What I really want to know is why he taxied off the centerline at the last moment before he pulled the parking brake?  I've never seen anyone do that--to the point I've seen a ton of pilots wager money on whether they could stop and park exactly on the painted box...

They make a SARH version of the R-73?  I’ve only ever heard of the IR version.

That was strange, but it looks likes the guy in front directing him gestured him to the side at the last minute.

Nope. You are correct Dave- I was thinking of the AA-10 Alamo. Both flavors AND long and short burn.

However, the AA-11 is still an outstanding missile…and the AA-8 Aphid is pretty impressive as well. The Aphid can be employed at pretty close range (inside a typical gun WEZ).

thanks for the correction-

cheers

An excellent video. I'd take a Mig-29 over the F-35 "Flying Banana" any day.

Chris.

I dunno. Mig-29s are pretty old and tired.  If you watch any of the Mach Loop vids, you’ll see the F-35s looking as good as anything else going thru the loop and pretty much holding their own.

Hi Pete
Have you flown a Mig-29?

Nick

Hi Nick,

No. But as an F-16 driver, I was required to be intimately familiar with its capabilities, weapons, and tactics. Obviously some of my knowledge has receded over the years away from that world.

Fun fact- a few years ago I came very close to buying a MiG-29UB located in Quincy IL. It is still for sale if anyone is interested.. here are some shots of me, my wife, and my mechanic taking our first look at the MiG with its owner-

My wife nailed it when she said “It’s like a big L-39”

My friend Albert still has the listing with his brokerage company

MiG-29 for sale

I also know where you can buy a

MiG-23.

cheers

LOL...This sort of reminds me of something one of our G-IV pilot's told me years ago which is kind of inappropriate but.. "If it flies, !$%!@^, or floats, it's cheaper to rent."
