It is always kind of funny to me to see a British jet in Argentine colors given the, let's say, fractious relationship between the two

he used his hand, there was no doubt about that when the replay was shown and with that hand (known as the hand of god I think) we were out of the world cup. Is that what you meant ????

A Rolls Royce Derwent kit - how cool!

With a bit of artistic license you could make a runway snowblower

My Artistic License has points on it...*

Oh my, this brings back some "airforce memories", back in the seventies, working as airtraffic controller at a royal netherlands airforce base, one of my other tasks was functioning as a kind of supervisor on (mostly nightly)  runway clearing activities in winter time, with the dutch equivalent of this contraption, but it also used two derwent engines, one in front and one pointing out the back, they could be tilted up and down and swiveled left and right, fully independently from each other, but by using them to melt and blow away ice chunks from the runway they produced lots and lots of steam, blocking their forward view sometimes, and that is were we as ATC came in to escort them, not too closely because of the steam, but at a certain distance at which we should be able to guide them by radio more or less...........yeah right......

I remember having destroyed a complete car gearbox of the vehicle we were using for this job, because funny enough i approached it mostly from behind, but i guess i had to "fight" my way forward against the jet thrust pushing me back........what do you mean too close for comfort.......

Great invention these "snow and ice melters"......

Profi engines are nice but lack a lot of very visible components. Globally all hoses connected to the engine are missing. Two huge ones covered by tape were normally located on each side of the top, from mid to rear sections. It is not that easy to find good pictures of them. So have a look at the 1/48 Airfix kit on Scalemates.

Your comment, Thierry, has woken up my memory of both this and the HKM kit, so thanks for that.  :D  Yes, the Profimodeller engines do have issues, mostly connected with the rear side of the intake centrifuge.  This should mirror the front side mesh, but for some reason Profi choose to go with their imagination.    Thankfully, much of that is covered by the combustion chamber intakes.  I don't see this as a reason not to use the kit which still assembles into a good improvement on the stock HKM kit.  The kit does include some piping, so a good search of this very site will help you out and help replicate said piping and also cabling to an acceptable degree.

To that end, I posted a Walkaround for the Derwent 8 from pictures I took in 2016 in Adelaide.  Here's the link:

And another one here, kind courtesy of Max Otten:

@ Ayovan.  One other trick I'd strongly recommend on the HKM kit is to add extra locating tabs on each half of the fuselage to help with aligning each half to make a joint which requires little work.  That rear fuselage is very long and thin, so do this to avoid a wavy joint.

Hope this helps,

Michael

I am looking for 1/32 decals set of Galland’s  Gloster meteor Argentine Air Force!

If I’m not mistaken only Revell have them in 1/72 in their set 04658

This photo may be discussed here already but it’s new for me and I’ve been wondering, could we say that this maybe Lieutenant General Galland with type C flight helmet? Shot in Argentine movie about Gloster Meteor 1951!

Dude.................That can't be right. For 2 engine kits?

Total price including VAT and discount     2580.00,- CZK

Choose a type of shipping:
 delivery (price +155.00 USD)

$115.00 USD for the engine kits ($57.50 each, a little pricey but ok) + another $155.00 USD for shipping??? Total $270 USD. Really??? The kit was only $85.00 including shipping from Australia.

At that price I'll live with the engine bays closed up and the ugly block off OEM intakes. I get making a buck or 2 but dang... oh well All the PE I ordered for this thing will hopefully take away from the lack of engine detail.

Surely that can’t be right, right? Have you contacted them? You could ship 1:1 engines for that amount.

Thanks. The main issue of such walkarounds is the fact the engines are out of the plane and consequently you cannot see the missing big hoses I mentioned.

Wow one looks like the ghost of L.G. Galland hovering in the window. Spooky
