I think the mahogany panels were glossy? But I hate glossy, I'm really not sure what to do... Cheers: Kent BiggTim
BiggTim
I think satin finish would be great. No more than semi gloss, at most, IMO. Looking REALLY good!! kkarlsen

themongoose
Stupendous on such a large scale. Going to look nice when you peek through the windows to catch sight of a Flapper! Fvdm
Great woodwork. I can imagine that the wood was high gloss. After all, flying was luxery. But a semi gloss will do the job I think. kkarlsen and BiggTim

Dukie99
This looks great, it calls for a cognac and a cigar...I would suggest a coat of transparent orange for that extra cozy feeling... This is the Margaux talking I swear. Cheers, David kkarlsen

airscale
quite breathtaking Kent - simply the best conversion I have seen I too love the civilianisation of military airframes, just like that Lancastrian we talked about Peter kkarlsen

And I haven't forgotten our 'deal'. I've been pursuing this 'theme' of 'civilized' Aeroplanes for a while now and this is the first 100% civilian project, of hopefully many more to come... Cheers: Kent I just mean when a model is high gloss it tends to look more toy-like. Reducing the gloss gives a more realistic look. So satin or semi-gloss in 1/32nd does well to represent a high gloss. kkarlsen and jimbo 1

I have a similar idea with colors. I find most paints to be 'too much' when used straight out of the bottle. It may be the right color compared to the original, but used on models they become toy-like? Cheers: Kent jimbo
LSP_Ray
Yup, same sort of effect. Looking at a 1/32nd scale is like looking at something full sized from a farther distance, so colors are lighter and less glossy. Therefore the "scale effect." jimbo and kkarlsen
