Jim Barry
Starting to feel I might pull this off! I really want to return to kits in the worst way. I was sort of awol last week working on the Bf109 v1 and (gasp) a 1/24 1965 Shelby GT350R. So fun. Greif8
Jim did you strip the paint for a redo? Ernest
Jim Barry
I’m sort of iterating my way through the finish by painting (both spray and brush) and sanding. The paint (mr hobby aqueous midnight blue) works well to fill small imperfections but then I still need to sand it before what will be the final coat. The glossy finish is great to find the flaws. Jim Barry
Big pause here, but I just had to redesign and redo the prop blades (were too wide) and the cowling (opening too small), but we are back now and better than ever. LSP_Kevin
Forging ahead, Jim! Re-doing things on a model that I'm not happy with is something I really struggle with. But I generally feel much better for having done it, on those rare occasions when I do! Kev Jim Barry and JayW
Greif8
Hi Jim, I feel your pain abour redoing things on a build; I am going through much the same thing on my current build. Good to see you making progress again, the paddle prop blades look reaaly good! Ernest Jim Barry
rafju
Wow, outstanding and nice effort with the re-do, congrats! Jim Barry
Jim Barry
Ernest, hope your revisions work out. They are such a time suck and for me, I just want to be done! The tortoise wins the race, though! Just balance it as my grandfather used to say. Rafju, thanks for the call to check my cowl dimensions. It’s going to be so much better, especially because now the engine I worked so hard on is more visible. rafju
Jim Barry
Still going…landing gear on. It’s been a slow phase but it’s still getting some regular attention actually. Just so much surface work.
