folgado
Hello everybody! I'm just finishing my "old" Airfix Spitfire Mk1 1/24 scale, I share here a couple of photos, I'm afraid I get too excited with the Merlin "oil leaks" and overdo it a bit... tell me what are your thoughts... All the Best! Shaka HI, Uncarina, Starfighter and 5 others

folgado
I know the Merlin's do leak a lot oil, mainly the ones from the war era, but another thing is making it look good on a scale model, that's where I have doubts. I'm used to it now, so I don't have that first impression feeling, as one might have when looks at it for the first time..
Uncarina
Folgado, Great entry! That build must be impressive in 1/24 scale. I like the effect, but you can always spray diluted sky over it if you want to tone it down. Not that I think you need to! Cheers, Tom
DeanKB
Looks good to me. I've seen some very messy Spitfire's, so it's entirely believable.

scvrobeson
Is there a way that you can explain how you got those streaks? They look fantastic, I'd like to know how you did it. The weathering is absolutely beautiful Matt
fightersweep
Hi Folgado; A superb looking build and finish on one of my favourite kits! Fantastic! I've said this before, but despite it's age, that big Airfix Spit can build into an amazing model with a bit of extra love. Personally, I enjoy that in a kit that needs a bit of extra work and thought....I just don't seem to get the same level of satisfaction from a shake an bake these days. Once again, awesome build and looking forward to more photos! Best regards; Steve mpk
mpk
Amazing to see this model built properly. I last saw it when I must've been around 8 or so. I built it and it seemed to go together and was fine. Then to see it again so many years later done so well...
