  1. It is almost finished, the BIG Fw190! It is a simple kit, but definitely not a toy...
  2. Hi, just a couple of photos of box comtents and the model itself, it is really big and impressive! Very basic in detail, but very well molded, very crisp detail. Simple but good!

First I airbrushed a very diluted mix of black and grey acrylic from tamiya, to define the flow directions (like a light pre-shade), and after with an oil mix of black and brown I started to create the strains layer by layer, it is very easy to do, although not so easy to explain I'm afraid! I hope this can help.
  6. You are right, I plan to had some gloss to it after the final clear cote, although I still don't know exactely how...
  7. I totally agree that there is something very special about these old Arfix's... And without any doubt, they can be built to today's standards, if one are wiling to put the necessary effort on it! I will post some photos of the building stages.. Lot´s of "dry" assemblies: Interior detail, not too bad regarding the kit age: The main difficult with this kit is too assure the correct diedral of the main wings, I installed an aluminum bar: The cockpit: The seat: The flaps surgery: The holding method: The clear parts:

  9. I know the Merlin's do leak a lot oil, mainly the ones from the war era, but another thing is making it look good on a scale model, that's where I have doubts. I'm used to it now, so I don't have that first impression feeling, as one might have when looks at it for the first time..
  10. Hello everybody! I'm just finishing my "old" Airfix Spitfire Mk1 1/24 scale, I share here a couple of photos, I'm afraid I get too excited with the Merlin "oil leaks" and overdo it a bit... tell me what are your thoughts... All the Best!
