Chuck,

Excellent point on rivets and even to some extent panel lines. I  know that as much as I say, not all should be visible on the finished model, I tend to do the exact opposite, and almost every panel line and rivet recieves a wash.

One thing for sure was that I could get away with a lot more in 1/48 scale them I'm finding I can in 1/32 scale.

Thanks Guys!

Geesh, Chuck, OCD, much?

Ha!  I laughed at this comment, because it is SO true!  As I have often said, "What I lack in skill I try to make up with my OC Disorder!"

Wicked!! Hope you have er ready for Nanton!

I sort of doubt it with only 2 months to go, but it's possible.  I will not rush this project for a Model Contest.  Having said that, I can always bring my P-38L and come in second to your HE-219 again!  :P

Cheers,

Chuck

Superb work as always Chuck, since you are probably getting close to the painting phase here are a couple of F-15 belly views, note the heat discolouring near the APU exhaust and there seems to be a circular clean area just aft of it:

I think it's because of the flag from the tail hook pin:

Thanks Jari.  You are always a gold mine for reference shots!  I have a similar one of the Aggressor Eagle and suspect you are right- the RBF flag has rubbed off some of the exhaust stain at the rear.  I will try to do something similar.

This reminds me again of my Hog build.  Around the AOA sensor there is almost always a circular pattern of staining due to the RBF flag on the sensor blowing in the wind in a circular pattern, with the majority of the staining on the bottom, where the flag usual hangs.  Here is my attempt of replicating same just aft of the formation light.

Since I'm going to start a similar F-15C project I had a thought about the rivet detail on top of the wings.  While photos of this area will always be best one idea I had that might be a little more practical and less likely to cause temporary insanity.  Look at the rivet detail from the GWH 1/48th F-15C for where to add the rivets, I think it has significantly more detail on the top of the wings and fuselage than the Tamiya kit does.
