Juggernut
Detail differences. The landing light under the left wing was only a very early feature (irritatingly, kept by Tamiya in the -1A/-1D moldings) is one notable one. Later -1Ds had rocket rails, etc. The basic airframe was remarkably similar though. Not entirely true.... from memory the cockpit was raised a couple inches in the -1A to make it easier to see over the long nose. Whether this difference will eventually be noted in the kit is another story. Granted a couple inches in 1/32 isn't hardly worth noticing but it is a difference between the -1 and -1A and subsequent. Bill Cross
Cool! I hope there are Gyreen decals, and here's to Eli coming up with some great USMC variants. I could see myself having two of these, the bird cage and the later variant, but all USMC Pacific!!! Something from Saipan would be the best, that's where my dad got his Purple Heart. Kagemusha
But none of the F4-U1 / Corsair I's saw combat right? I thought that was only later marks? As has been said, I think they were all based in the States for training, had full span wings too.
nmayhew
As has been said, I think they were all based in the States for training, had full span wings too. Shame - no combat, no purchase I am afraid I don't "do" trainers!
Juggernut
God, I'd love to preorder one from HLJ but I'm still having nightmares from the shipping costs from the Tamiya P-51D. I think I'll wait until Gordon gets them in and see what his price will be. Out2gtcha

Juggernut
First Hasegawa announced an N1K2-J (or Ja), then Dragon announces a 1/72 Saturn V rocket and now this! I'm gonna be broke for rest of the year.....
