  1. Unfortunately that method in the video isn't the best way to ship build models. You are asking for it to be damaged and heartache! I just shipped to WNW from NZ to Isle of Man and they arrived in fully intact all I used was plastic shopping bags and a plastic tub. The issue with method in the video is that any impact to the carton is transferred through all the foam into the model itself. The model is the weakest point and absorbs the force and brakes. I've posted images over on my Instagram and Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Davesmodelsnz/) how I did it. I will try to copy over later on, I am just posting off phone so its not really user friendly to do so at the moment.
  2. Your a machine... I would love to see where you have all your builds displayed.
  3. It was never considered as it was a trainer.Yet a prototype UWD was released...
  4. Awesome stuff! So when is the warbird coming?
  5. No worries Ali, I received my kit yesterday and had a good look this morning. The Plastic seems pretty solid and isn't rubbery like some manufactures have used in the past. We never had any strut collapses in the studio. If anything I would look at some of the clear parts.
  6. To be honest the kit won't require it. The kit struts/undercarriage design is very strong.
  7. I paint the bomb yellow first, mask off the stripes with Tamiya Tape and then spray OD over it.
  8. Knowing how Richard operates... I would take this as a gain of salt. Only believe it when you hear it directly from Richard or Kotare directly. Not from someone that is "closely involved"
  9. It hasn't been change. Also I can't see why they would change it, as Border would have to retool quite a large chunk of the kit occurring more cost.,
  10. No its not included. The Lancaster kit is an Early version. You would need to delete the fuselage windows along with other modifications to make it a Late.
  11. You shouldn't need metal undercarriage, the kits are pretty solid.
  12. I doubt that would be an issue if WNW was still operating and released this kit, knowing the standards we had in place. The kit wouldn't of been released if something was sub-par.
  13. Are you so sure about this? I would like to know where you got your information on what Meng had to do... They only tooled a clone of the 32nd engine sprue. They didn't correct or make any fine tuning that the kit required.
  14. If you are looking for a Albatros kit that has both DV & D.Va parts within it, you will need a Jasta 5 or one of the Brown kit boxings. The Manfred and the Standard releases only contain the parts for the stated variant on the box.
  15. I used poster board in the past, thou it would get dirty after a while and I would have to replace it. I managed to find plastic sheet back drops from Aliexpress, and they weren't expensive. The sheet cost me around $10-15 at most.
  16. Roy at Barracuda has announced the Kahu upgrade for those haven't heard. Roy has pulled it for a couple weeks to add a couple more items to the set like square fintop, radar cooling intake and high intensity strobe. No price or pic on the website... But The Modelling News has some images at the bottom of this link - https://www.themodellingnews.com/2022/03/preview-barracudas-13-new-products-in.html#more
  17. Can confirm US Harness, Rocket Stubs were only fitted to Kiwi Corsairs in Post War Japan. If you haven't picked up this book, Highly Recommend it! https://www.ebay.com/itm/224733514140?hash=item345329499c:g:ZtoAAOSwAMVhsopO
  18. Speaking from experience on moving my WNW collection and another former staff collection (both collections had 80-100 kits), is to sell them separately. Only downside if you sell as a collection is your limiting your audience straight away... They would at least need $5k in their pockets (don't know what kits you have, just pulled a ballpark figure of $150 per kit at least). I would limit your postings to a couple of places, suggestions would be LSP and the WNW Fans page on Facebook. If you think you can handle listing them all at once, it has its advantage as people will buy multiples to get shipping costs down. If you can't handle them all at once, do them in lots of 10-15 and mix them up with ones that are currently still listed as available on the WNW website and Sold Out kits (if you have any). As pricing the kits, I went to eBay and advance searched the sold auctions with the kit numbers. I entered all the sold amounts into excel and averaged the total, and took 12-15% off the price as you would lose that with eBay fees. I sold everything at that total, bar one or two where I had to drop the price by $10-20 Hope that helps!

Bhahahaa. What a load of rubbish! WNW never went into bankruptcy, liquidation or anything like that. There was no Tax Payer money going into WNW either. The owners closed the doors due to COVID as they said, but most know that wasn't the case. WNW still is company that is trading, but they have no staff. Will they open up again? Maybe in some form, only to sell off the remaining stock that is New Zealand. All staff have moved on to new opportunities. If some miracle happened and they fully reopened, it will not be the same WNW's as old. I highly doubt that the released tooling will be sold off, I know that people have approached WNW and they haven't gotten anywhere with them in regards to buying the company or the tooling. The WNW tooling that has been release is unfinished projects (DR.1's, Lancaster), there are two other projects that are still out there that I aware of. Who knows the HP O/100-400 may get release if someone finds it.

  21. Why do you suggest that their are lawyers involved?
  22. Thats the same email they have been using for the last 18 months or so...
  23. Maybe its time you start your own plastic model injection company and see how well these would sell in 32nd... I would be picking you wouldn't be around that long....
