morane Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 I received mine yesterday. In the box it's an absolutely superb model and the instruction booklet is a model of its kind. Of course, it remains to be seen how the build will go, but frankly we can only congratulate DACO for its work (a labor of love for sure!). This is a purchase that I do not regret. So, now I'll need at least another one Richard Kagemusha, geedubelyer, Fanes and 4 others 7
quang Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 From my initial impression, all it needs is a good, extensive decal sheet à la DACO. Everything else is included in the kit (even the moulded brake lines on the under-carriage legs). This kit is a living proof that old-school modelling still prevails and that one doesn’t need tons of PE and extra AM stuff to build up a complete and detailed model. Kudos Danny Cheers, Quang Landrotten Highlander, Fanes, Kagemusha and 5 others 8
geedubelyer Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 From everyone's description this sounds like a magnum opus of sorts. Do we know why the Magister is so close to Danny's heart? Did he fly them in a previous life or possibly work on them? Is it simply a fondness for this unique design with it's forked tails? I am curious but whatever it is I'm very happy to see this gem brought to market. Now you guys who have taken delivery need to start building them in the WIP forum so the rest of us can enjoy seeing how it turns out. CRAZY IVAN5, Stefano, Fanes and 2 others 5

The Fouga Magister is close to the heart of every native Belgian (and Belgian at heart) who grew up in the 1960 onwards. The red Magisters of the Red Devils demo team became a national symbol just like the football team of the same name. (Somebody was lacking of imagination here ). Since the late 1970s when I met him in Jack Peeters’ model shop in Antwerp, Danny Corremans always had strong ties with the Belgian Air Force starting as a plane spotter. Hence his infatuation for the Fouga and anything related with the BAF. As I see it, the 1/32 Fouga kit is his magnum opus. scvrobeson, geedubelyer, CRAZY IVAN5 and 4 others 5 2
thierry laurent Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Certainly a Magnum opus. Some years ago, as the Fouga test shot appeared for the first time, I asked him if the Alphajet would be his next injected model project. I'm clearly remembering he looked at me as he would at the devil willing to take him back to hell... He strongly stressed he would not do that! This surprised me but he probably knew he was still not at the end of the Fouga journey and could not imagine jumping again in a similar boat... wunwinglow, quang, Fanes and 1 other 4
quang Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 One thing I forgot to mention: While the edition of the DACO Fouga is limited to 250, the kit has nothing to do with a modern short-run albeit excellent like Special Hobby. The production is akin to the best Asian mainstream manufacturers like Z-M, GWH, Border, Kinetic etc… Kagemusha, scvrobeson, geedubelyer and 1 other 2 2
alaninaustria Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Mine arrived today, had a quick peek - what a beautiful kit! Just needs a nice decal sheet! Am very happy they produced this kit! Cheers Alan Out2gtcha, Iain, Fanes and 3 others 6

Let me correct you Quang: my Fouga is not limited to 250 copies, not at all... I need to sell 2000-3000 kits to get break even... that means I need to sell that many kits to see the invested money back before I make any profit on the whole project... And it's 'thanks' to AMK and Kinetic that I released the Fouga in 1/32, as it was originally planned to be 1/48... The Fouga kit is also the 'Magnum opus' of Philippe Goulard, the designer of all the 500 parts who designed many high quality kits for Heller, then Airfix, and until his retirement for Revell (and DACO 🙂 ). So you may congratulate him too... Danny Coremans (with one 'r') morane, Iain, Kagemusha and 18 others 15 6

Well, all I did was repeat what I read on the @DACO Products website. If I attributed the merit to the wrong person and misspelled his name, it’s because I didn’t know better. Hopefully it did nobody harm apart from bruising some egos. I only tried to lighten up the uneasiness I felt reflected by some of our fellow members concerning their orders. On the other hand, if @DACO Products had attended to these justified concerns himself like he should, I would have never bothered. Blame the rest of the ramblings on my juvenile and overflowing enthusiasm. Cheers, Quang Edited September 22, 2024 by quang Syntax CRAZY IVAN5, Fanes and Shoggz 1 2
Guest Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 I've never seen a kit like this, that offers a huge number of instrument panels, both front & back. Amazing detail.
quang Posted September 22, 2024 Posted September 22, 2024 Just a wee bit to whet one’s appetite on a Sunday morning Fanes, Iain, geedubelyer and 2 others 3 2
