Kaeone57 got a reaction from mpk in Beaufighter 252 Squadron 1942
NICE work Bill, Keep on keeping on!
Ahem,I think the Madonna "spinner spirals" are more 1/1 scale and they might require a different approach to handle correctly!

Kaeone57 reacted to Ironwing in Mustang...1/18nth Scale
I've marked out the thrust line and FRL to help visualize the angle of each and demonstrate the position of the ex haunt shroud opening.
Looking at the lower fuselage (Old Crow) you can see how the exhaust assembly is higher in front than in the rear; opposite of the way it should be. The thrust line begins its negative slope of (-)1.75 degrees at cs 46.125
[/url
The negative slop isn't readily apparent when view from the side. Looking down the length of the fuselage you can see it a bit better.

The new exhaust port insert is made of .040" card stock. This thickness is needed so the opening can be sanded to shape to match the fuselage curve. The opening is lined with quarter round ABS to form a box on the inside. The card stock is then glued to the outside of it. A template was made using the same method and material described earlier and the new shape traced into place. The center area was Dremeled out with files being used to refine the shape.
