Paramedic reacted to Warbird in TA-152H Zoukei-Mura - last pics
Hi all,
Last pics, just before completion, as this model will appear in a future issue of Meng Air Modeller.
This has been a sometimes challenging (but nothing too serious) kit but also rewarding as it truly looks impressive eventually. Beside this one a 109 looks like a dwarf...
Cheers
Tristan

Awww man....I feel so stupid, I never connected you to Tobbe! So sorry, I really am.
Thanks Martin
It's due to a slight case of AMS

I am on IPMS Gbg. (Tobias) - not often on IPMS Stockholm though, just not as fun..
Yeah I have been thinking about it..
Glad you jumped on the kit as soon as it arrived (well, almost!)

Well, the title says it all. Here is a video (english subtitles are available). At about 6 minutes into the video it gets interesting.
Really the end of an era

I’m pretty sure that the “unbuildable” comment was meant in jest.

Like the way the wing roundels are blurred out on the box art. I guess China has something against displaying what is now the insignia used by Taiwan.

Holy smokes that is an impressive preview. I’m all over that like a cheap haircut.
Cheers, Tom

Paramedic reacted to curiouslysophie in 1/32 Tamiya F4U-1 Birdcage Corsair
Here is my rendition of the ‘bent-wing bird’. I used the Eduard cockpit (never again) & propeller, HGW belts & stencils, Barracuda Wheels, and a load of scratchbuilding! I did some super-detailing on the engine, cowl flaps, canopy fittings, and wheel bays.
It is a fictional scheme from a Guadalcanal based unit, flown by the fictional Lt M. W. Hendrik.
I hope you enjoy my build, I had great fun with the weathering on this one. I have come to love dirty aircraft and learned a good deal of new techniques for this plane (still not so great at them!).
On to the pictures!

Paramedic reacted to Thomas Lund in Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire Mk XVI, flown by Raymond Lallemant, a 6 victory Belgian ace
I think I've mentioned it, but I'm trying to build pilots from as many nations as possible. This time it's Belgium. These markings are included in the kit, but I made my own paints masks for everything except stencils and the personal stuff around the cockpit door. Kit basically out of the box except HGW belts and Aires wheels. I don't usually do open engines etc as I think it destroys the look of the plane, but this time i decided to deviate from that - mainly because the engine is a work of art right oob, and there was nothing interesting on the cowl anyway.
Hope you enjoy

Paramedic reacted to MDuv in 1:32 Tamiya - P-51D-20 44-72218 "Big Beautiful Doll"
Hi folks,
My first RFI on LSP.
A build I finished last summer on wich I worked for some times.
The subject is the uberknown John Landers's "Big Beautiful Doll".
Timeframe of my build set it to before he was appointed full colonel, so no checkers on the wings, and victory board not complete yet.
In order to avoid varnish and silvering, all markings are painted, and the stencils are from HGW.
AM Used:
Amur Flaps
Barracuda's cockpit stencils
GW external stencils
Yahu IP (was given a bit of relief with bezels)
Lifelike Decals. Used as ref to make the masks. The only actual decal used is the name on the canopy frame.
The subject at the chosen timeframe
Finished Pics:
Now closing up with the lady
Landing light was missing at the photoshoot time, it was since added.
And a few Build pics:
She's not perfect, but I hope you will like her.
Cheers
Mathieu

Fantastiskt snyggt och inspirerande bygge!
Tänkte försöka hugga en Draken. Hoppas det blir några roliga varianter av den.

Frying the Bacon!
I´t Sunday and time to have fun with the exhaust!!!
First some of this SNJ aluminium powder....really good stuff!
Used a dry brush and well...drybrushed it on edges and rivets and anything protruding
Next a round with AK black pigment! I used a medium round brush to make streaks in the tunnel and get it into crevasses and around details. I used lots and it´s easy to wipe off where you put too much.
Next to get some colour I used mig City Dark Dust ( a little favourite of mine) and a lighter earth tone pigments. I applied it with a little more thought than the black to get nice streaks and really hot metal feel. (you see now why I based the exhaust in such a shiny metal colour a I did)
Then I glued the nether paddles into place.....
And the AB-ring found its spot.
And the contraption was then glued to the exhaust tunnel.
And that was then glued into the tailcone.....upside down as it turned out, it does matter apparently
Looking good!
On with the droopy paddle....
A little cleaning was needed....
so i BROUGHT FOURTH THE DREMEL! MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
This is where I discovered that the tunnel was glued in upside down and....well I needed to fix that.
And with that the fit was ok, there is still a big step all way round since the tail cone is smaller than the fuselage...and the seam is atroscious.
Well that´s for another day!
Todays progress.
Cheers!
