LSP_Kevin
Welcome to the Operation Overlord Group Build! This Group Build will run from December 1st 2023 to June 6th 2024. The theme covers any aircraft that fought over Northern France from June 6th to August 30th 1944. Aircraft must be depicted as it was during this time frame. The kit must also qualify as an LSP for our purposes (any aircraft or helicopter kit 1/35 scale or larger), and be no more than 25% complete at the time of entering the Group Build. If you have any questions, ask away! And ... have fun! Kev Rick Griewski, Erwin, chaos07 and 1 other

denders
I'm still working on deciding on what I'm going to build. From my stash, Bf109, Fw190, A-20G, P-47, Bf110, Ju88, Tempest V, P-51, or even acquiring a Spitfire Vb operated by VCS-7. I had no idea that the US Navy operated Spitfires, stumbled upon them when browsing around for suitable projects. Now I'm leaning towards a F-4F4 Martlet, the Revell boxing. I was hoping to find some information about Overlord Royal Navy Corsairs, but apparently Corsairs were not present in France. Or does anyone have better information? Br, Jani Jani, Go ahead and do a VCS-7 Spitfire if you wish. I would have to buy a spitfire kit and there are plenty of kits already here to use for the GB. I tossed it in there to see if anyone commented. Actually, I don't remember seeing anything of Martlets fighting over northern Europe at that time, so you've got me having a look. I guess the Piper L-4 could be added to the list too. And I imagine the Storch and Bf108 could be added to the list.
scott_t
Looking at an Airfix 1/24 Spitfire ...... I found new(ish)? Xtradecals markings for a Spit based in France post-D-Day. Probably not getting started until post-Xmas.

I'm missing the decals on VCS-7, most likely I'm not going down that road. Interesting things, one finds when looking for something else. From what I was able to find, HMS Tracker was providing support for D-Day landings with Avengers and Wildcats. https://www.royalnavyresearcharchive.org.uk/ESCORT/TRACKER.htm I don't have Avengers in 1:32, so the Martlet would be my choice as it looks now. I just need to find the kit Br, Jani Alain Gadbois
Dpgsbody55
The Mossie is looking a bit lonely here. I do hope others will contribute. I have a Spitfire (choice of Mk.IX's) that I'd like to do for this, but I can't join in until I finish my Z-M 109. I hope the lack of subjects here is due to the same reasons as myself. Cheers, Michael

The dates for the battle of Normandy are June 6th to August 30th, so if it falls within those dates then it's in.
BradG
For those interested in Martlett's, 846 Squadron FAA conducted fighter sweeps over the invasion beaches. Also I should have included those squadrons involved over the channel on anti submarine patrols, so those of you who want to build a Hellcat Mk 1 from 800 or 804 Squadron or Avenger from 846 Squadron, go ahead.
