Bravo John,

I enjoyed your journey through a not often trodden road. Excellent attention to detail and comprehensive step by step.

Thanks again.

Regards,

Kent

Thanks Kent!  It's always nice to find a scheme that hasn't been modeled too much.  Kobayashi's 244th markings get all the love.

Actually... I could've done a lot more but I was so excited to get to my other projects.

Extremely beautiful !!

Thanks Thomas!  The Ki-61 is a nice looking airframe.  I just wish that Hasegawa or someone produced the Ki-61 II, which I think is the best looking Hien.

You’ve nailed the faded look of the olive paint very nicely John. Congrats on a fine build.

Cheers Bevan

Thanks Bevan!

Very well done. This scheme is really interesting. Kind of reflects the shifting of aircraft that went on in the Sentai at the end of the war with these mixed tail markings. The Wolfpack set was well done and you did it justice.

Thanks Steve!  I was lucky to have found the last retail source for the Wolfpack conversion when I did.  Sadly, no longer available!

A really great work!  The painted markings look amazing. Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you!  The tail markings were challenge but happy I was able to clean up the wonkiness.

So nice John - and the weathering is so convincing.  Your paint jobs are the best.

Thanks Jay!  I elected to keep the bottom relatively shiny instead of oxidized... not sure that was the correct choice.

Thanks!  The Ki-61 is definitely an elegant airframe!

This is my recently completed build of the Hasegawa 1/32 Ki-61 I kit converted to a Tei variant.  I used the Wolf Pack conversion set, which featured a lengthened resin nose and other bits.  Also used on this build was the Aires resin cockpit set. Most of the markings, including the tail emblems, were painted using custom masks produced on the Silhouette Portrait cutter.

The build, from start to finish, can be found at the following link:

Nice Tony!

May I post it on the website?
