It’s been a while since I updated stuff, so thought I’d drop a quick note.

It’s my intention to put this back in the bench in the next week or so.
I’ve been staring at the piles of plastic on the shelves, gathering dust, and not feeling the love.
Severe financial restrictions have kept me away from the modelling table. So I’ve been stuck down the rabbit hole of DCS flight simulation for a while. Things have improved enough for me to grab a few paint bottles to continue with this wonderful model.

Thanks Niels, and for reaching out previously. It was very much appreciated at a tough moment.

My original plan was to wall mount it, over the top of a period overhead photo, to try and have it look like it was over a target on a bomb run.

That kinda went out of the window with my choice to have all the engines exposed. I may yet attempt a wall mount, but it’d have to have a different backdrop.

Why not build the engines for separate display?  That’s my plan.

I’m not much for having loads of little bits n bobs in the shelves with finished kits. It’s one more thing that my daughter, or me for that matter…..could knock off the shelf and destroy.

Welcome back Pete  :hi:

Yeah those flite sims can be an addiction.

Thanks Mike.
I’ve just started to study the Viper in depth using DCS. Trying to tune my controls to mimic the side stick characteristics. It’s amazing how many hours can pass when one is trying to learn and master even the basics.

So I’ve been stuck down the rabbit hole of DCS flight simulation for a while.

I was addicted years ago and suddenly realized that the time I spent (wasted) with nothing tangible to show could best be spent doing something real and that's when I started (restarted) building models. But I must say landing an F18 on a carrier at night was memorable.

Well……who’d have thought it. I’ve actually managed to put cement to plastic. I now have all 4 motors finished and all beat up to different degrees.
Next up is to construct the port wing and undercarriage.

It feels pretty good to have my hands on parts again, and to be getting stuff done.
