Hi all,

Once again it's time to vote for the Group Builds you want in 2023. There are 9 options vying for 3 places. Please vote for 3 maximum. I would also ask that you vote only if you intend on participating, otherwise the results will get skewed away from participants. Keep in mind the first GB will be Hasegawa LSP's. The options are;

Aces High - any pilots with 5+ victories from any conflict.

In Enemy Hands - any captured aircraft in the markings of it's captors.

Turning Japanese - Japanese aircraft from any time period.

Commonwealth Air Forces - just that, lots to choose from.

On The Nose (Art) - nose art on any aircraft, shark mouths included

Commemorative Colours - a place for all those event or anniversary colour schemes eg; Tiger Meet, squadron or battle anniversary art etc.

South of the Border - aircraft of Latin America

Air Forces of Asia - from the Asian continent, any time period

The Luftwaffe - 1933 - 1945.

Voting closes November 20th.

I voted for one (didn't really understand I could choose 3    )

How can you vote again  for the other 2. Thanks.

:sorry:

There should be an option to delete or change your vote.

So does encouragement count or would one actually have to build something?

I would like that if you vote for a group build (or 3) that you intend to build something for it. Otherwise if lots of people vote for a build they just like the idea of but don't build for, it will be an empty group build.

My prediction is the winners will be Luftwaffe, Aces High, and On the Nose.  Luftwaffe is always popular, and people getting their mitts on the new Z-M kit only helps.  Aces - a lot of options, but it will mostly be a WW2 build with maybe a smattering of WW1 aircraft, if people want to move their WNW kits from the hoard pile to the build pile.  While there were some jet aces, kit and decal availability is somewhat limited compared to the World Wars.  Nose art and shark mouths are cool and plenty of options, including stuff for the modern jet crowd.

For Asia, what are we using as the definition of Asia?  Aside from the obvious countries like China, Russia, India, and Japan, the Middle East is also commonly considered part of Asia.

The wikipedia listing. Nothing too complex.

BTW - Nose art. Does artwork at the rudder count in? And how about fully decoratred aircraft from anniversaries or last flights?

Regards

No the rudder does not count as Nose art. If you were interested in building a fully decorated aircraft then Commemorative Colours is the Group Build you want to vote for.

This could be a very economical group build year as the right 1/32 Hasegawa Ki-84 Hayate could be entered into any one of four categories if the three current front runners stay the same:

 - Hasegawa kits (Brad's exec choice)

 - On the nose

 - Turning Japanese

 - Aces high

Food for thought...:coolio:

Kind regards,

Paul

There’s a Ki-84 with nose art?

yes I presume the ki 84 with the big red and white arrow that went from the cowl all the way down the fuselage is the plane in question.
