DonH Posted February 2, 2022 Author Posted February 2, 2022 Now I am in a quandary. Do I put a gloss coat over this or leave as is? My head tells me it will look better but my heart knows I could ruin it with a poor gloss coat. I have bought some Tamiya LP gloss coat, so I am a little more confident but, but, but...
Guest Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 That finish looks beautiful, might I suggest Alclad AquaGloss as a final finish , it lays down beautifully and leave a thin robust finish , I've just started using it and I've been really impressed with it DonH 1
Out2gtcha Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 Lovely work! The black finish is really difficult to pull off well, but this looks terrific. DonH 1
DonH Posted February 4, 2022 Author Posted February 4, 2022 Glossed it! Boy, I was sweating in case I ruined the finish but it all seems OK. It looks just like this only glossier in places and without fingerprints... Next job will be unmasking, adding seven aerials, front U/C doors (fiddly bits again) and adding the canopy. The end is close. Anthony in NZ, Sepp, LSP_Kevin and 8 others 11
DonH Posted February 13, 2022 Author Posted February 13, 2022 And now it's finished. Managed to get the nose gear doors on without too much drama and finished off adding the aerials. Then canopies unmasked. Woohoo! I will post some RFI pics later in the week. MikeMaben, ColinR, johncrow and 12 others 15
