Jack
I can't recall this being asked in the past on this forum, but is there or has there ever been a vacform North American Vigilante produced by anyone? HTH Jack
thierry laurent
Not in plastic or resin. The only large scale kit release was a heavy paper one in 1/33. Jack

"north american a-5 vigilante" - Scale Modeling Search https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?q="north+american+a-5+vigilante" nope, i'm sorry Maru, but the only scale i'm interested in concerning the vigilante is this 1/32 scale version, mainly because in the past i was trying to get this thing going in "scratchbuild" motion, but just could not get into it...... thierry laurent
I also love the Viggie and hope we will finally get a large scale one. I made the 1/72 Airfix, Revell and Hasegawa kits when I was a teenager... Jack and JMcD
Dandiego
Perhaps someone could 3d print one...... Clean lines, rather boxy fuselage....... Just thinking out loud. Dan Jack and JMcD
Oldbaldguy
I’ve been down the scratchbuild road with a Viggie in 1/32 as well. Even ad some decent line drawings blown up to 1/32. Sucker would be big but grand. After market F-4 engine faces and exhausts would work just fine as will existing wheels and such that are pretty close. Seems like somebody on here already started one? I’d planned to go the same route as Pete with his monster T-38: bulkheads glued to a profile of the airplane then sheeted to get the shape. Lots of cross section drawings and other data out there for reference. Pretty sure it could be done as long as you get the nose right. Lee White
It is very large. Mine is in storage, somewhere, and is yours if you want it, Jack. It weighs a ton, you'd really need to think out the landing gear to support it. Jack

Out2gtcha
A lot of 32nd oleo struts are equivalent to 1/8". It just so happens that those turkey injector kits you can purchase on line (or in any supermarket in the US in the fall) have a stainless steel injector that is 1/8". Add some stout metal parts for the rest of the gear. Oldbaldguy and Jack
JMcD
RC-A5 in 1/32nd That would be awesome! And big, of course. I have some company in mind that maybe can be convinced to produce one, in resin and 3D printing Jack
Rainer Hoffmann
Yes, the RA-5C was a very elegant airplane. Unfortunately they hardly carried anything under their wings ... Cheers Rainer
Rob Colvin
If a P-8/ 737 and an Electra/ P-3 can be 3d printed.....I'm sure it wont be long until someone does a RA-5 or A-3. Rob Jack

Cheers Rainer Hard to go really fast with bulky things strapped to your wings just like the stealthy F-35 looks like a flying house on radar when carrying external stores. I literally grew up with Vigilantes and never saw them carry anything but the occasional flasher pod except on the day they were delivered. Brand new white tails always showed up overhead carrying all four pylons and tanks. Cluttered up the look of the airplane considerably. Thankfully, rarely saw them with either once they got to the squadron. Rainer Hoffmann
thierry laurent
The Vigilante bomber was designed with an internal bay. So there was no need to use pylons. And as the RA-5C had the canoe pod to host the recce systems, there was no need either.
firefly7
The Vigilante pupped the ordinance out the rear through a tunnel inside the aft fuselage. Supper elegant design, hope it comes out someday.
