Paramedic
Thinking about picking one up. It is pretty cheap - but i guess it needs a bit of AM to make it "pop"? So maybe might not turn out as cheap as I think? Any recent opinions on accuracy, ease of build etc? And what AM are more or less needed?
Paramedic
Ah alright.. So a no go then.. I checked through Scalemates quickly but they were not very thourogh - the reviews I read. Better wait for a new one then? I can get an early Revell D for almost the same price.. Might have more fun with that?
LSP_Ray
I think two manufacturers - ZM and HKM(?) are looking at doing one so I would wait, unless you want to try your hand at a resin one. There is one available for sale by 109ace, link listed in the vendor’s board right now, plus Jerry Rutman’s old resin one pops up on eBay every once in a while. Paramedic
Sounds like a good idea to wait..? Thanks. I might pick up the D-5 in the meantime, Revell.. Seems like a nice, easy enough kit.. Rick Griewski

If the full resin kit is too pricy, or you have the ancient Revell kit gathering dust in your stash, 109ace(ebay seller ID wilde-sau-resin) also offers a reasonably priced (imo) update kit that fixes some of the most glaring issues: https://www.ebay.com/itm/234197858184?hash=item368747b788:g:vhYAAOSwBNNfBb9w Edited September 29, 2021 by coogrfan Paramedic, dodgem37 and BiggTim

My wife points to alllllll the kits I have waiting in the wings (at least 300+), watches me cutting one up like this for a conversion, and tells me I am, indeed, crazy... oh well, the modelling heart knows what the modelling heart wants...... fastterry
Hey Mike, if you want to have a good laugh look up 'The Loaded Dog' by Henry Lawson, a good bit of Aussie humour to brighten a dull day. TRF MikeMaben

Honestly I wonder myself about my sanity. I go through my kits and think "Ooooh cant wait to build THAT!" ..... and then I decide to convert something. Some parts as seen will be eliminated and replaced. I will be adding a full interior, and wheel wells ( main and tail ) Two different types of drop tanks. coogrfan
James Rademaker
There is a guy on eBay who is selling an all resin P-51B on eBay. The same guys who is selling the resin update for the old REVELL B Mustang. The price is $125.00. Jim Paramedic
