I konked out on a 1/24 SAS Jeep so I turned my sights to an Israeli Defense Forces' M38A1, called a Siyur in Hebrew.

This is the base kit.  It is a dog.

Some parts will be taken from this.

One reference.  The other is the M38A1 Tech Manual.

What I hope it will look similar to when finished.  Also used this kit as as a reference, taking measurements and scaling up.  I will also use its' painting guide.

I've been told this is a fire extinguisher.  I haven't been able to confirm that.  Scratched, then cast, with frame detail.

  • dodgem37 changed the title to 1/25 IDF Siyur Reconnaissance Vehicle, Conversion
  • 1 month later...

Thanks a HEAP!, Martin.  Your photo contributions are invaluable!  Thank you, Brian.  Thank you, Bjorn.

Not completely finished but enough for show.  Everything simply placed in position.

DSCN6836.JPG

Still need to work on the body, seats, stretcher, antenna, and radio.

DSCN6837.JPG

Head lamps, also.  Still need to drop in the bulbs and lenses.

DSCN6838.JPG

I punched out a mylar balloon and a disc of of clear acetate to make the mirror.  Adhered them with Future.  Not so good.  Oh well.

DSCN6839.JPG

Instrument panel dials are an amalgam of aircraft instruments.  Painted the rubber tires grey.

Thanks for looking.

Sincerely,

Mark
