Scotsman
I've read that story a LOT over the years , over of Reddit , there's a tradition whenever the SR-71 comes up, either as a picture , or is mentioned in a thread, within 10-15 posts , this story is recounted .. But I've never heard it quite as well performed as this ever , thanks!
Panzerwomble
This is the original talk that the above video is based on . His delivery is reminiscent of Bill Hicks to me . Scotsman and Landrotten Highlander 1
Oldbaldguy
Absolutely my favorite flying story. Just listened to it twice with my Proud Air Force Wife. Made our day. npb748r and Panzerwomble

vince14
Pretty good, and reminds me of a similar story. Sled pilot asks ATC for clearance to 60,000ft. ATC, not realising that he's talking to an SR-71, sarcastically responds "FL600 is yours if you think you can get there...". Pilot responds "Roger, DECENDING to FL600". firefly7, Rainer Hoffmann and adameliclem
Bob MDC
Also the tales of how he managed to get pictures in the most highly secured areas, he was in the "follow me" car with camera and a top Air force brass, I think it was late summer at Fairford with a really atmospheric morning the camera was about to be questioned but Shul said "look at that, it would look great framed behind your desk" I think the reply was "OK you have 5 seconds"
