denders
If you want to move this to the WIP section, that's fine. Dave
denders
Well, since it's still here. Masks on for the white. I need to rub them down a bit yet. Troy Molitor, Greg W, Fanes and 3 others

Flight Line Media
I look forward to seeing this build completed. This is possibly my favorite fighter. I just finished "Ace!" by Bruce Porter and highly recommend it. Edited September 2, 2021 by Flight Line Media
denders
It's been a while for an update. Color is on now. Debating whether I want to put a clear coat on before I peel the masks. Out2gtcha, Martinnfb, Rocat and 4 others
Alex
I would take the masks off now - more layers of paint make for a bigger "step" in the surface between base color and insignia. Just my $0.02, though. Overall it's looking very nice. Out2gtcha
denders
Thanks, Alex. That is what I arrived at. Unfortunately when I took the Tamiya tape off the bottom of the tail surfaces it left some sticky residue and the only way to remove it was with some rubbing alcohol. Since I'm using MMP acrylic paint, the paint came off too. So, I'll have to repaint parts of the bottom of the tail surfaces. Argh!
Out2gtcha
Looks great! Myself I always remove the masks before a clear coat, and most times even use some 10k or 12k polishing mats over the whole thing as no matter how careful one is, there are always paint ridges to deal with. It is much less aggressive than alcohol as far as paint goes, and pretty good at getting sticky stuff off. https://googone.com/
