geedubelyer
Hi Fanch, This is an absolute pleasure to follow so thank you for taking the time and effort to share your techniques and progress. I hope the article is a huge success as I'd like to see more modellers adopting your approach of ultra-realism. It's such a treat to see someone painting an aircraft as it appeared rather than using some artistic style just because it's popular. Bravo sir, I applaud you for daring to be different. Long may it continue Looking forward to seeing more. Cheers. Vandy 1 VX 4 and Shaka HI
Fancherello
Hello Thank you so much for so kind words. The efforts to build up an article are nothing compared to such rewarding comments. I am trully happy that you like my approach of painting and if I managed to share techniques. You pointed exactly what i try to keep as a guideline, thank you very much for that. You charged my batteries up to 100% ! Fancherello
Thank you Vandy ! here's an update on the wing sweep marks. I've been using some custom mask that I designed with a pattern of concentric ( eng? ) circles layed over a drawing of the friction area. I sprayed some weathering band after band with greenish and yellowish grime greys ( based on H317 Gunze ). Some final touches with a thin brush and some AK Grime grey came next. I finished the process with a ery fine sanding, trying to follow the sweep move. I also worked on slats, painting their shieldings with pale gold tints of Alclad. cheers ! Squizzy 78
This would have to be the best tomcat in 1/32scale, I haven't seen weathering done like that before, it's a perfect match for the real thing! Bravo

wardog
Hello Fanch, First off I want to say that I just found this WIP and I am absolutely amazed at your work. Your method for achieving the TPS scheme produces the most realistic results I've seen so far. The Salt Weathering and Black Basing techniques are good methods but in my opinion, not as good as liquid masking. I also appreciate the videos you've shared that show your techniques in action. I'll definitely be trying them soon I but know that I won't be able to achieve your results any time soon, or ever! I'm looking forward to the completed model and hopefully an article. Fancherello
Thank you so much for these kind words. Now you know how I did, so try, try, experiment, make this method yours, and you'll get results ! There's no reason nit to succeed. Best regards.
