BradG
Getting to the end of this one, some of us need to pull the finger out of the proverbial, me included. Anyways, as usual, leave a suggestion for the next one below.
LSP_Kevin
Nice timing, Brad! The theme for the next GB is actually already decided, and will be a tribute to the late Eric Brown. It will encompass any aircraft he is known to have flown, as represented in LSP scales. We're going to call it "Winkle's Wings: A Tribute to Eric Brown". There's an article on Wikipedia that lists the aircraft he flew: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_flown_by_Eric_%22Winkle%22_Brown Get planning! LSP_Kevin
Oh, I forgot to mention: you get extra brownie points if you can identify and build the exact markings he flew any given aircraft in! Kev
mozart
Plenty of choice there then! Enough to appeal to modellers of any era or genre, even old stuck-in-the-muds like me!!! Max

LSP_Kevin
Oh ok, not sure what I have that fits I'll have a look. I think the only guys who'll miss out are guys who only have modern jets in their stash. Perhaps we should follow up with a modern jets GB. Aircraft of Chuck Yeager? thierry laurent
I knew he tested a lot of planes but ...487... Jeez, wouldn't it be easier to list the planes he did not fly in? I'm sure this record will stay forever!
dodgem37
Fixed and rotary. Born to fly. Sincerely, Mark

Thunda
Just an incredible man, Winkle Brown- flew virtually every type of aircraft from the 30's to the 60's, including all the German, Italian and Japanese fighters of WWII (and many of the bombers), was involved in many of the decisive campaigns in the air war (his input into the choice of the Mustang for 8th AF for one, or flying in the V1 campaign after his house was destroyed and his wife concussed by one, the list goes on). Broke the mold when the made him. For any enthusiast, his book 'Wings on my sleeve' is a must read, but even just a glance at his wiki page should convince anyone whos not heard of him of the mans greatness: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Brown_%28pilot%29 Think its a great idea for a group build- loads of choice and a very interesting subject. dmthamade
So many choices i'm having a difficult time trying to decide what to build!! Rough count shows over half my kits qualify. Need to finish my Spitfire first. Don
Jeff Herne
Good idea for a GB Kev!
BradG
So as I understand it, the aircraft just has to be representative of the type he flew, not the actual aircraft, although that would be good to do. Correct?
