dmthamade Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 This is a what if build, had some markings from Leading Edge for a CT-33 from 414 Sq Black Knights. They look OK to me and add some color to the display case. Build itself was relatively straight forward. Paint was Tamiya spray bomb and Tamiya Acrylics, Florys wash. LSP_Kevin Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Excellent build, Don, and as Urs says, a really eye-catching scheme. May I publish it on the website? Kev dmthamade 1

Zero77 Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 I never saw this scheme before and did not ever know Canada used Meteors, but i definitely love it ! It's a very clean and beautiful model ! dmthamade 1
dmthamade Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 I never saw this scheme before and did not ever know Canada used Meteors, but i definitely love it ! It's a very clean and beautiful model ! This build is a what-if, we never did use the Meteor operationally, but did evaluate them ( and broke most of them ). It kinda looks like the old CF-100 Canuck, would be nice to be the Clunk done in 1/32. Don
Iain Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Maybe a what-if - but it's a hugely convincing one!! Iain dmthamade 1
Old Dog Flying Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) I know that the CDN government has a really bad habit of using equipment until they fall apart but....We had 3 Meteors on evaluation and one, E311 was ditched in a lake in northern Ontario. The pilot rode out the water landing and managed to walk out of the bush 28 days later. The aircraft was salvaged with only minor damage. And one shed some of the tail in a high speed dive Very nice build by the way! Barney Edited December 27, 2015 by Old Dog Flying dmthamade 1
Phartycr0c Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Superb execution. Great looking meteor. dmthamade 1

allthumbs Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) Wow...one of he best "high speed silver" finishes I've seen. Congrats Don on a great build! Which of the Tamiya Silvers did you use? Rich Edited December 28, 2015 by allthumbs dmthamade 1
SinuheH Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Really nice build - congrats on a fine silver finish. dmthamade 1
Jasta 14 addict Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Hi Don, well i have to say, i don't really like what-if builds, but this one just rocks it all the way. To be honest, i like that color scheme a lot, and with the very nice and sharp precision of painting you got a winner Don Congarts mate Greetz Danny
mywifehatesmodels Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Brilliant work, Don! Wow! I'm not even a big fan of the Meteor, but this one grabs my attention, for sure. John dmthamade 1
