Hi Phil,

This is some really outstanding work you've got going on here. It's really good to see more complex projects such as this one come along. They're so inspiring!

I'd like to do a Canberra myself one day, but I think after the B-17, I'll be looking for something a little smaller as I'm going to run out of room in my house if I'm not careful!

Can't wait to see more :)

Another  Not - So - Simple  Part to Duplicate!

Again!... very complex shapes going on here - almost 'faceted!' like a diamond on the tail end of the wheel cover ... and a spoon/paddle shape  going on in the forward-side!

Now to duplicate this .....

sG89NzM.jpg

I used solid PVC plastic to start my...  whittling!

.... Boy!  what a mess this caused me!  (Gritty - Gritty!)

.....Now test-fit to main landing gear.... before going any further!

iM8H9Sh.jpg?1

Me thinks I got the 'shape' close ... now to construct it with a outer-skin....

LXA1LI2.jpg?1

...Now to give them the 'dots' for some realism

I also decided to depression-rivet the outer skins because after inspection of the real aircraft, I noticed the outer skin was  flush-riveted and the inner-surfaces were mostly pop-riveted....

So I duplicated these as close as I could    .... so not to upset any rivet-counters!     :hmmm:

.....ready to go into the next stage - resin molding
