tucohoward
Thanks a lot guys. Got the fin and rudder painted. The info I have called for 81/83 on the tail. The Mr. Color 81 is more green than brown and would be very low contrast with the 83 so I added a little Dark Earth to it to get a little more contrast. Went ahead with decals which are EagleCals other than the fuselage crosses which are from the kit. The EagleCals fuselage crosses are already filled with a color that didn't match my 83. All decals worked well. Jay Piprm, mywifehatesmodels, Sparzanza and 2 others
alaninaustria
Looking really nice bro... just one question, I wasn't sure if this is in 32nd or 24th scale? Cheers Alan
tucohoward
Thanks Alan. It's the new 1/32 kit. Jay

tucohoward
Flat coat and raw umber oil wash done. I also altered the line of the 75 area behind the cockpit. After looking at it for a while I decided it was too straight. From the pictures I can see a few spots I want to remove a little more of the wash. Now I have decide on which spinner/prop I want to use. Jay mywifehatesmodels, Sparzanza, tomv87 and 4 others

tucohoward
Thanks fellows. I was expecting to be done with this one by now, but anyhow, making some progress. I wasn't planning on doing much in the way of stencils but changed my mind. The MMP book on late war 109's says most, if not all stencils were omitted, but the JaPo book says K-4's generally had them and the EagleCals directions say factory standard so I went with the majority. Hard to tell from pictures. Some of each most likely, and I only have one picture of this one which isn't clear. G-Factor gear legs and BarracudaCast main wheels. Kit rear wheel and rubber tire. BarracudaCast prop blades and spinner. Haven't done a RLM 70 with white section spinner in a while so of course I got that wrong. White section is normally done centered on a prop blade where I have it between two. I have found pictures of them like I have it, but it's easy enough to change so I will. I also redid the demarcation line on the wings. Don't know why it didn't turn out the first time but I am happier now. mywifehatesmodels
Great job, Jay! The demacration line on the wings looks great. On late 109s and some 190s, that's one of those things that I either nail it perfect on the first shot, or completely screw it up and have to start over. Usually the latter!
