  1. I don't think we are ever going to be of one mind about pricing for OOP kits. But please realize I scored on my last two WNW kits, but have a number of armor models that are effectively OOP, yet fetch half of what they originally sold for. So for every WNW goldmine, there are literally scores of old kits begging for buyers (I can sell them at fire-sale prices if I choose).

We don't even know if BNA got them from JetMads. They would not be the first retailer to buy up a lot or lots of kits and resell. I have a modeling friend who does just that. Says his business rests on the the "three Ds: debt, divorce or death." :D

I think we all know how capitalism works but are you saying that if I had bought 5 of these kits and sold them on this forum, for twice the price, that it would not be met by just a little distain?

As far as I know there was a waiting list for this particular kit.. if they picked up the kits that did not sell directly I see no problem but if they hoarded them just in order to sell them at inflated prices, yeah, I do have a problem with that..

Do we know how capitalism works? Do we?

It seems someone is always bellyaching about price gouging for one thing or another. Then when a manufacturer or retailer goes out of business, we shed tears.

If you had the spare cash to invest in 5 kits and did so, then I would not object to you selling them for whatever the market would bear. But you might buy five kits and find no takers at that price. Not every sold-out kit is a windfall.

In the interest of full disclosure, I sold my last two WNW's kits for much more than I paid for them. Good for me. Others are doing the same. Good for them. That may offend you, but no one here owes anyone else a discounted price because we hang out on the Internet. I apologize if that sounds harsh, but what you're saying seems naive.

Just mentioned to hopefully reassure UK buyers still waiting for theirs given the absence of any meaningful parcel tracking information.

The same actually here in the Colonies: it just showed up one day with no real notice. Sometimes that's the nicest thing in a day.

  4. Hankering after a VN War F-104C, but the Italeri kit, hardly a revelation these days, is over $150 at Sprue Bros. I realize SB aren't the be all, end all in kit purchasing, but still.... The G and TF-105G are both decent (I built the two-seater and gave up on the G when the Aeres resin upgrades didn't fit the kit).

Did I miss the memo where Italeri kits are suddenly in scorching hot demand?

could be interesting, but will depend on the price point...

Having sunk over $600 into two Jetmads offerings, I have passed the point of rationality in modeling. The Fort is simply THE most-iconic plane for me, I asked for and got two Memphis Belles for Christmas when I was 12.

HI Bill, whether intentional or not the timing is excellent.

Sometimes in business ya get lucky, and if MOTA is half as successful as BoB, then it should excite American and maybe British modelers. Far more important, I think, is whether this release can improve on the HK Models try. If so, I would be sorely tempted.

Lycka till med ditt Viggen-bygge! :D

Tack, tack! (that's about the extent of my Swedish beyond "Happy Birthday" and "Merry Christmas").

Regarding shipping updates: I got incomplete shipper updates from the website supplied by Jetmads, and I knew very little until the package was in the States. Then it just appeared with no "out for delivery" or other announcements. My advice is be patient. I was NOT, but all's well that ends well.
